SCI-Arc Sublet Loft Space for the Summer

RMutt

Hi there,

I am a second year M.Arch I student (2GB) at SCI-Arc, and will be living in San Francisco for the summer, and I am wondering if anyone is looking for a place to rent this summer.

This is a super cool loft space across the street from SCI-Arc.

This place would be perfect for an incoming student looking to get accustomed to downtown LA, while searching for a spot to live in the fall.

The 850 sq.ft. loft is in the Barker Block Building in downtown Los Angeles (http://www.barkerblock.com/gallery.php) and it would be an awesome place to live in the summer. It is perfect for one person or a couple.

Would be perfect for Making + Meaning.

Email me for more info, or pics.

Looking for a renter from anywhere from May 1-Sept 1.

$1100/mo (really, this is a REALLY good deal)(I pay almost twice that per month, but I just want to sub-let it for the whole/part of the summer).

Let me know.

Thanks

Ben

Rusty!

You pay $2200/month for rent while going to school???

Daaaaaaamn. This is a price point unaffordable to most practicing architects with less than 15 years experience.

I once paid $400/m while at school and almost starved to death.

Damn trust fund mutts :)

Hey RMutt,

I'm looking into doing Making+Meaning this summer.
Still need to work out a few kinks in my summer plans though, but I'll send you a message soon if that turns out to be an option!

First of all, Rusty's comment doesn't even dignify a response, but lets all congratulate him for his ability to survive undergrad?/grad? school without starving.

Plus, this aint Ohio...its California, and rents are more here (I wish it wasn't the case). Luckily, my fiance and I live together, and she works in an industry which apparently values and compensates their highly educated young associates.

Forsan, feel free to email me when you are interested, but I have another potential renter, so you will have to move relatively quickly.

Thanks.

Rusty!

Way to poop on Ohio.

I'll have you know, for every bushel of corn I collected in my undergrad, I got an hour towards my barn making accreditation. It doubles in grad!

You city folk, with your imaginary brides, are giving me a sad :(

Let's just say this - Yeah, LA CAN be expensive, however the area around SCI-Arc has become very trendy in the last few years, and thus expensive. You can easily get far cheaper rent in LA, not far from SCI-Arc, in much better areas of town. I know. I did. And I was glad that I did. Downtown LA, no matter how you dress it up, pretty much sucks. It's nice to see some grass and trees once in a while.

Its true, it is a pretty harsh urban landscape...BUT, trendiness aside, there are some pretty unreal little secrets to be found in downtown LA (great cheap asian food, great taco trucks, weird after hours bars, AND, unlocked, unrestricted access to drive your car into the LA river!!!)

(p.s. I don;t think thats legal, but I mean...LA police have better things to do!)

Anyway, it is a PERFECT place for an architecture school!

@Rusty

OT:

Your posts are one of the biggest reasons why I now read this forum, when I really have no reason to.

Thanks for the daily laughs
