Sustainable Fire Station Case Studies
We are teaching a 2nd year design studio where the final project is a sustainable fire station with a housing component in Los Angeles. Please provide feedback if you know of any good example for case studies. These can either be fire stations in LA area or not, sustainable or not.

also - define 'sustainable' - low embodied energy? low operational energy? rainwater harvesting? naturally ventilated/passive heating?
Housing component?? In a fire station? Are you teaching at a school for the deaf or are the prospective tenants meant to be deaf?
Either way, it 'sounds' like a bad idea.
I am also looking for ideas on sustainable glass factories with an institutional component.
I'm trying to develop a combination glass factory that also supplies housing for people with hemophilia-related medical disorders.
