for those who attended, how did u guys like the open house?

It was pretty impressive. Friday and Saturday activities kept the group busy for the entire Open House. The high point of the weekend for me was the lecture by Gregg Pasquarelli of SHoP Architects. The auditorium was a full house, and it felt like everyone was on the edge of their seat for almost the entire lecture. The Architectural Praxis Symposium the following day was a good opportunity to hear from a variety of professionals at different stages in their careers, focusing a discussion around different/future models of practice.

As far as the school itself, the most striking aspect was the shear size of the school, both in the sense of physical size and the amount of resources. The cost of attendance is among the highest in the country, but there was a very clear perception of what resources are being utilized. Students have access to multiple grants, scholarships, GSI, and GSRA positions that can potentially ease the financial burden while fostering a competitive atmosphere. The studio is COLOSSAL.

All in all, the open house event validated all the buzz around Taubman College. Looking forward to getting down to business this Summer!
