I like to do them similarly to column details... I xref in the walls sections ..turn them to pale purple and no print and draw the detail separately on top of it.

B. mostly. Building section and wall sections drawn separately, then, on a wall section sheet:
Layers with SECT in the name are always on, except notes.
Layers with DETL in the name are on only for the details.
