GPA for last two years

alvin2003

I know some of the grad school admission just required the GPA for the last two years of undergraduate study.

1. does it means all the upper division classes???
2. I know UCLA/Berkeley have this requirements, and what else?

Thank you

It won't really matter unless your GPA was pretty bad the last couple years. Doesn't really matter what your courses were.

Typically, grad programs look at your last couple years -- that's just the way it is.

yes. i know. thank you
but i did pretty bad on the FIRST two years. so if they only take the GPA of last two years, which is good for me.

also i don't see any grad school have this requirement. except for UCLA/Berkeley.

I was accepted to one of those schools. My GPA was a 3.351 overall and 3.75 for the last 2 years. I calculated the last two years as the last two calendar years, not just your upper division courses. I remember Yale also asking for the last two years course GPA, but I could be wrong.

alvin. Don't sweat the GPA now as there is not much you can do...most schools can overlook a poor GPA if your portfolio and references are strong. I would still apply and see what happens.

Can i still apply? if my GPA below 3.0?

You should apply no matter what. However if you have below 3.0 and you apply to say Yale (as you just mentioned) I'm 100% certain that your GPA will be a stumbling block. I hope your portfolio is good. you may want to d an online one and go through a couple of drafts by posting it here for advice as other people have done.
