I've been working on this competition lately and it deals with the re-vamping of an urban area in Boston. There is a bike path adjacent to the site which I believe would have a major impact on the project and area if it it utilized correctly.
So...does anyone know of any projects which utilize bike paths or incorporate bike paths in any kind of way, I'm hoping some precedents will give me an idea of how to make this path work best for the site.
Maybe the "Erzbahn" in the Ruhrgebiet could be an interesting starting point: former train tracks for the coal and steel industry have been reused as pedestrian/bike paths, and have seriously improved the recreational infrastructure of the entire region.
I'm pretty sure that there's something similar in England, but I cannot recall the name.

in Vancouver comes to mind, though I think they could've done more to address the bike path.
