With its USGBC LEED Silver certification, Washington Square Park Dental looks to the surrounding urban area, including an adjacent park, for design inspiration.  The long interior entry ramp is framed by a linear garden, which continues through to the patient rooms as a calming visual element and compliment to the custom wood paneling throughout.  A series of patient rooms are each open to the interior garden and counterbalanced by custom-designed perforated acoustical paneling, which wraps from the walls to the beveled, light-reflecting ceiling.  Semi-translucent wall panels filter natural light through the rooms while simultaneously protecting patient privacy.  Throughout the space, unexpected views, sculpted with material properties and light, constantly shift the visitor’s perceptions of what is public and what is private.
