Dogtrot House

Indigenous to the southern region, the “dogtrot” is a plan typology where the principal interior spaces are organized around a central exterior breezeway. DOGTROT is situated on a narrow lot in an urban neighborhood just off Florida’s Gulf Coast inland waterway. The house faces north and has a clear southern exposure. Shell topped concrete through the breezeway and exterior terraces along with the swimming pool’s tranquil blue waters provide a reference to the nearby shore.
