The eco-resort is a detailed celebration of Nicaraguan nature, materials and culture. An experiential architecture that comes out of the wildlife of the area, inspired by it and, as much as possible, hiding within it. The eco-lodge was designed to have as little impact on the natural beauty and wildlife of the area, the use of natural materials helped incorporate the bungalows and villas into the forest. Each cabin was raised on stills with the purpose that the buildings would never interfere with ground-level wildlife.

With 15 bungalows and 3 villas tucked into the lush jungle, reflecting a whimsical feeling of privacy and seclusion. Custom design furniture pieces were made to highlight the eco-lodge’s culture, sustainability and natural luxury. The bungalows have a natural privacy given by the surrounding forest with an outwards towards the bay and the expanse of the Pacific Ocean. Thatched roofs, that blend into the setting, and benefit from the indoor/outdoor style that works so well for nature-lovers, each bungalow includes private outdoor showers, a plunge pool and, in some cases, trees growing through the roof.

Some of the highlights are the covered outside terrace featuring a custom design hanging daybed, large bathrooms with handmade taps from copper tubing and the 110-meters suspension bridge that connects the hillside bungalows to the main building, without interfering in the wildlife’s path to the estuary.

At its heart, Morgan´s Rock is a luxury conservation project that covers 1,800 hectares, and has been involved in the planting of more than 2 million trees, the reintroduction of animal species, protection of wildlife, and the initiation of sustainable agriculture in the area.

The new villas were designed especially for families, getting them as close as possible to nature while being together and having their own space, making guests feel connected with nature.

The design aimed to create a minimal impact on the surrounding environment, the use of natural stone, light weight walls systems that maximized natural ventilation and natural light, created a century relation with outdoors, making the place feels like it always should’ve been there. The ecolodge design incorporated the topography, working around natural features, trees, local materials and creating open-air sharing spaces that welcome guests to a new type of luxury.

Set into the treetops, each villa is also a celebration of local craftsmanship. The furniture was custom designed with natural colors, and rich textures from each of the wood species that where harvested in mixed agroforestry coffee plantations. Two rooms, two bathrooms and a terrace with a private plunge pool, stunning views and unparalleled wildlife, make each villa a soothing experience that raises the standards of environmentally conscious luxury. The villas feature new unique design furniture with rich custom upholstery, a layered color palette, thatch roofs from local palm trees, exposed wooden roof structures with cane ceiling, handmade hanging lamps and copper tubing from local artisans.
