The Potomac Residence

The Potomac Residence, is a 5,200-square-foot spec home in Highland Park, Texas. This spec house breaks the traditional design expectations of the prestigious neighborhood with its contextual corner interventions. The design features two programmatic floors: all public spaces on level one, including the great room, kitchen, and nook, and all private spaces on the second floor, such as a master bedroom suite, additional bedrooms, and upstairs lounge area. The spaces were designed to maximize light/views, function, and efficiency. Furthermore, the plan follows a use-based division of a four-zone HVAC system to efficiently heat and cool each area as needed. The exterior material selections are contextual and simple to blend into the traditional neighborhood. The interior finishes include museum finish walls, wide-plank white oak flooring, marble, quartzite, porcelain tile, and custom rift-cut cabinets.
