Founded in 1995, Henley Halebrown has established itself as an award-winning architectural studio with expertise in contextual new development, adaptive reuse and the sensitive renovation of historical buildings.

Recognising that buildings form the foundations of society, the partners - Simon Henley and Gavin Hale-Brown – strive to make enduring architecture that supports the community it serves and has a human, ethical and cultural dimension.

The London based practice works across a number of sectors including education, the arts, housing, healthcare, offices, masterplanning and urban regeneration in the firm belief that excellent buildings are not the product of specialisation but are achieved by applying knowledge learnt on all building types. Resultant buildings and schemes are responsive to the needs of both client and user, as well as to their context.

Henley Halebrown has won a number of prestigious awards, including Healthcare Architect of the Year 2008 and RIBA Awards for Shepherdess Walk, Talkback Thames, St.Benedict’s School, Junction Arts & Civic Centre and the Akerman Health Centre, which made the RIBA Stirling Prize Midlist in 2013.

The practice received a Highly Commended in the inaugural WAN 21 for 21 Awards, which highlight 21 outstanding, forward-thinking architects and the leading lights of architecture in the 21st century.
