Saving a Blog Post, to Finish Later Archinect2012-03-21T20:56:00-04:00>2018-01-30T06:16:04-05:00

We've received inquiries, from a number of our bloggers, about how to save a draft while composing a blog post.

At the moment, we don't provide access to "drafts", but we will in the near future. For the time-being, however, there's a simple little hack (to use the term "hack" very loosely), that will help you accomplish this...

Start your blog entry, as usual

When you're ready to save it, click the "Preview" button

Then click the "Continue editing" button

Copy the URL in the address bar and save it somewhere safe, or bookmark this page

Return to this page whenever you're ready to finish your blog post

When you're ready to make the post live, click Submit

Hope that helps!

We're excited to announce the release of the newest blogging feature - group blogging! We created this ability after receiving numerous requests from groups who want to start a multi-voice blog.

Some typical examples of a group blog:

Architecture studio school blog

Firm or company blog

Competition team blog

Shared interest blog

Location-specific regional blog

Club or organization blog

If you already have a blog you can add another author to your blog using the administrative tools in the "Authored by" section in the right column:

Click "Add a new blogger" to add an existing Archinect member to your blog. If the person you want to add doesn't have an Archinect account yet, just tell them to sign up first. You may need to ask them for their username if they aren't using their real name with an Archinect profile.

Once you have other bloggers added, you can make another author the admin (to replace you), or you can remove them, with as little as on...

The Blog's Background Image Archinect2011-09-30T20:05:58-04:00>2020-07-03T11:16:04-04:00

When we came up with the idea of adding a customizable background image for each blog, we originally referred to the background image as the blog's "environment". We added this feature as a quick and easy way to give a distinctive look to a blog, reflecting the style, or theme of the blog's content.

Creating a nice background, however, is not as easy as it may seem, so we're putting together a few tips to help you create the perfect background, or environment, for your blog.

The background image you upload will tile, so consider how the image will look when it repeats horizontally and vertically.

Consider that computers each have different resolutions... so what may look good on your screen, may not look the same on screens with smaller or larger resolutions. If you are uploading a background image that is meant to fill the entire screen, it will not look the same on a screen with a small resolution compared to a screen with a large resolution.

If you use a custom bac...

How to get your Archinect profile connected with your blog Archinect2011-09-29T12:13:07-04:00>2021-12-08T09:46:07-05:00

We've already received a few questions from bloggers about how to get their profile image included in their blog, with a link back to their profile.

As you can see in the above example, this shows an author that does not have his blog connected to his profile.

This is how you can connect your blog to your profile:

1st, if you don't already have a profile, you can set one up here.

2nd, if you do have a profile just edit your profile (click the little red pencil under your profile photo) and select the option to use your real name in your posts & comments.

And that's it!

While building this platform, we've tried our hardest to make everything as intuitive and easy as possible. This can be very difficult sometimes, because the features that seem the most simple are often most complex to make simple to use.

The Archinect blogs have a history of being rich with media, both images and video. They've become a critical component of telling a bloggers story.

UPLOADING AND RE-ORDERING IMAGES

Click the "+ Add Image(s)" button

Select one more more images from your computer

Add captions to the images, if desired

Re-order the images, if desired, by dragging them using the drag handle to the right of the caption fields

After publishing your post, the first image will appear large, at the top of your blog entry and the remaining images will appear as thumbnails at the bottom of your entry.
