I've been contemplating what the content of this blog will be, and in my last post I said I would be comparing psychological papers/articles to architecture, but I think that is going to change. Next year I will be the president of the AIAS Chapter at UMA. My love for architecture comes from the desire to understand how spaces affect human behavior and emotion, and how architects can use this knowledge to make the world a better and healthier place. I also have an interest in historic preservation/restoration. I sit on the board of a development group in my hometown, Lewiston, ME. Our biggest success has been in saving a 100 year old Albert Kahn building, which we are now working on restoring. I am also a founder/editor of a local newspaper.
