Ive been extremely absent this past weeks, cause of school and everything so im here now at MÃƒÂ¨rida ,yucatan the southeast part of mexico, (near cancun for all you europe!)

and the sun is diffrerent here, there is no F"Ã‚Â·$" shade, anywhere... and the humidity is 150%

Im over here in a national student contest where 114 people from 50 different schools are working on a proyect, given to which was really secret here amongst architects and students.... so i wont give it up , but its huge!!
he are workin 12 hour days and just half a day with computers , what do you think bout this? is it really important to use computers, i think its a basic TOOL, which helps us ground our ideas and work... but to have 5 o6 hours where you have to draw them yourself by hand, its CRAZY
so here is a picture where everybody`s working and stuff, ill post my project whithin a few days..
but this really concerns me, a national contest where people dont know how to use autocad or any computer aided d...

The new proyect consists on a center for new materials on construction both development and production, and also a graduate school on this theme..... 10,000 meter project located in the city, right now we are on the process of finding where to put it, somwhere the railroads, main highways and accesible spaces could be...

so you people from around the world, doing whatever that is you do, from making us jealous bout you having lectures with Raul cardenas (torolab) or even the guys in harvard with FOA as visiting architects... In monterrey we do not have that privelege that often. Just for last semester where Asymptote`s Hani rashid and Nai`s director Aaron betsky came for our own Luis barragan program of lectures, but im starting to go off the central theme

where the proyect was to make an intervetion for a "bridge" where mexicans could cross the border only as pedestrians, no cars would cross the boder, so here yo go

more images, less words as a teacher told me once. What we do is a graphic work, as we can express our own ideas and thoughts with a rendering or whatever, comments accepted!

so back to work, sorry i hadnÃ‚Â´t entered any new info but you know how this things at school work.. right now is 4 a.m. and im working now on the Arquine magazine contest... which is due on monday feb 21. I cant tell any details now but be sure the next update will have info on the project so you can at least say it sucks!!!! ok?

what up? this enrtry is just to describe what i`m bout to do in my design course. we had to work on a research building already built so we could see how everything was made.
from the historic value of the site, to the urbanistic capabilities and really get into the architects mind to see how we could understand everything happening from the inside-out.

I worked on the Pharma Research building in Basel from Herzog & Demeuron. A sober and interesting building to research about because of what they tried to do inside this 30 building complex that is runned by ROCHE pharmaceutical company.

After this that we looked at the building on its programme, structure and unique qualities. we are now about to work on a parasitic program that could complement the buildings use for something new that we could do.... I am working now on a habitable bridge between this buildings so the people that work on the complex that are into this special research or in a manufacturing campaign ; i don`t ...

So, this is my first entry and for everybody who`s asking themselves what is Monterrey Tech or where is it... There is a simple answer to the question its It is the Instituto Tecnologico y Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Just as Cynthia Gutierrez like 4 blogs over mine. And the thing is I thought the name for my school would sound better or everybody could understand what I was talking bout but that`s ok now you are informed on the situation.

Now, to what the whole things about... Architecture and what I`ve been up to the last months!

My last semester was pretty hectic, I took a course named Catedra Blanca directed by Agustin Landa Veritz a reknown architect in Monterrey and Mexico.
