Hotel Garbi was just round the corner from our apartment and is stunning! As seen in some of the images I have attached, the building seems to have taken a modern approach to the typical spanish building. Keeping some similar features such as materiality, render and scale and adding a new lease of life by introducing the curved exterior. I feel this approach has worked very well however because of the subtlety of it, the curves are not an eye sore and by keeping some of the similar features it blends in well between all the existing architecture.

On holiday in IBIZA, the worlds party central, and the first thing whilst walking down the Bossa strip that catches my eye is the architecture - at least I know I'm doing the right degree!! The typical tourist areas that I visited didn't exactly show much of the residential housing side of the island, but what I did see gave me a great insight to the traditional architecture.

I didn't manage to get many photos as I didn't take my camera everywhere with me, but have managed to find a few of the buildings - or similar ones, on good old google. There was a rectangular building sitting behind a round feature that looked like it could have previously been a mill of some sort. From then on I noticed similar features within the housing throughout the island, when in a taxi or j...

So I've decided to start a blog, mainly to help myself. I want to keep inspired with architecture and interiors that aren't just related to my studies. I also need to keep on top of my spelling and syntax - not good!! I need a place to record the places, buildings and designs that have caught my attention during my every day life, otherwise the photos will just linger on iCloud!

Right now is the summer break which is the perfect time to begin the blog! Aiming to post once a week recording all visuals from throughout the week, lets see how this goes!

Sarah.
