The Future of Me Tatiana Hajjar2021-04-26T14:03:33-04:00>2021-05-07T00:29:12-04:00

The path to becoming a successful architect is a long path, with so many ideas and journeys along the way. When it comes to my personal future in this field, I want to do so much. Architecture is my excuse to leave my mark on the world and travel. Growing up, I watched my dad construct buildings all over California and in the Middle East. He got to travel and sometimes my family will go with him and watch all his hard work come together. He would show me the buildings the architects would design, and I fell in love with that. The architects would design the most amazing designs that ran along a building or design the most beautiful homes. I thought it was so amazing to see one’s work come alive. That is when I knew I wanted my work to come alive and inspire people. I want people to look at my work and be in awe and find the beauty about it. My sister is an engineer and a dream of ours is to work together and be the ultimate duo. I don’t want to let her down or our dream. This is wha...

Why Architecture Tatiana Hajjar2021-04-12T12:36:48-04:00>2021-12-06T09:31:07-05:00

Studying to be an architect is one of the hardest majors of them all. According to many scholarly sources, Architecture is, if not #1, one of the top 5 hardest majors one can choose to study. As a second-year architecture student I can confirm based on my own experience. But what makes it all worth it is how amazing the process is. Studying, reading books, memorization are all the things I dislike and that is why architecture was such an appeal to me. It is an art and with art comes patience, time and a lot of hard work but the good thing is that one never has to go through it alone.

Being in architecture school, especially a predominately architecture school, everyone on campus and around you are going through the same thing you are. We all relate to one another and help one another. You are never alone at an architecture school literally. You can be at studio at any time of the day or night and there will always be someone there. What the beautiful thing about architecture is tha...

Welcome to Sims World Tatiana Hajjar2021-03-12T16:07:09-05:00>2024-03-19T01:01:24-04:00

Influences on architecture can start at such an early age without one even noticing it. It is the little things in life we surround ourselves with while growing up that have the greatest impacts on one’s decision. Influences can be where you grow up, what you surround yourself with, technological or physically. Growing up with the booming of technology did have its advantages. Games on my desktop and apps on my iPad are what made me exciting about designing and building my own little world.

As an adolescent, thinking about my future was not on my list at all. I was just a kid who just wanted to play fun games on my computer and iPad. It started when I downloaded Sims. With Sims, I could create any world I wanted, all run by me and designed by me, the people, the town, the homes’ interior and exterior designs. This was so fun and exciting. I created my own town and named all the people after my family. The first home to be build was my own, of course. I designed the exact replica of...

Escape to Architecture Tatiana Hajjar2021-02-24T15:31:15-05:00>2021-04-26T17:03:25-04:00

Traveling is a common activity most people share interests in. When one wants to escape their everyday lives, they choose to escape to another location. But why is that? Why is there such a fascination with leaving one’s life behind to experience another’s? Every country, state, island has its own attraction, whether that be the amazing food, ambiance, beaches, or the history of that place. The main reason for wanting to “escape” is for a chance to leave one’s everyday scenery and experience another world-like place; that has all to do with that place’s architecture.

Architecture at any place will always be different. Not one country has the exact same design or thought process as other locations. We go to Paris to experience their grand chateaus, the architecture of the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and the art within. The first thing tourists from other countries do when they arrive at their location is sight see, it is a must. The Louvre and the Eiffel Tower is incomparabl...
