In the times we live in, work has walked into our homes and this phenomenon is going to stay for the near future. By home, reference is to primarily towards our spaces of reflection, relaxation, facilitation of the inner life.

This way of life, where the boundaries between workspace and living space are blur has had its own effects on the way we live our contemporary lives. In terms of architecture and inhabiting spaces, within the last two decade the online shopping modality has entirely changed the way people shop, consume and interact within their built urban or rural environments.

This new upgrade where entire businesses have gone online and are working on screens and chat rooms is demanding an inquiry into how do we as architects work towards building environments especially residential spaces where we enable and create spaces to ground people in their spatial experiences and be able to navigate through life in a humane manner.

Why and how does this phenomenon exist ?

I have tried to live and travel to as many places I could as my primary passion along side working full time as a professional there by exploring and experiencing the ways in which people inhabit and live their lives. Every place has its own way of living, systems, notions, beliefs, skills along with certain methods of celebrating, eating, unwinding, sharing, loving, disrupting, fighting and much more. Each thing carries a certain uniqueness and this all happens through two entities - you and me!

How we live in a city becomes the way we define the relationship with that city and associated experiences with them. Its all about the variety of energies interacting and taking its shape in the way you express it.

Today’s convenience in each diaspora of life from food being delivered at home to swiping right/left on tinder to getting your toilets cleaned by professionals to getting your cigarettes using dunzo to playing horizon on PS 4 to changing the world by just tapping on your screens to 100’s of other advancements we have today around us just a click away.

While we very conveniently adapt these material comforts to make our lives more and more easier all the time, do we realize the impacts of these on our daily lives in relating to and with people?

Well Well..Good evening ladies and gentlemen here. Tonight i would like to share something very critical to me. Now i have been practicing architecture for 4 years now and oh boy oh boy what a ride its been...Unbelievable ...especially to me...entering the profession with the highest of spirits believing in power of architecture to transcend our lives..to the levels the practice in India runs to the overall scenario India is developing in. It is insane.

The pace, the demand, the supply, the needs, the wants, the engagements. I have dealt projects ranging from a few sq. meters to 750 acres. We are just growing like weed all over the place. On one side its been a wonderful time exploring the realities of our field and on the other the things it comes along with. It is an extremely demanding profession not only in terms of creativity but passion, agility, perseverance, patience, balance, people management and much more. A beautiful collection of 5 small quick read booklets designed in a very unique style which offers a great deal of wisdom regarding architecture.

We often ask in India, who is this guy who's known all over and what did he do that he's so deep into Indian architecture scene since 1960's.

Well, he deserves every bit of attention he has gained, because he transformed the whole approach to architecture, especially in the Indian context.

As I keep moving forward in my professional practice, I am discovering multiple facets of architecture. It’s as if the layers keep unveiling as one goes deeper into this state known as architecture. In today's time where anything and everything is possible, there is no one way to practice. One would have a great confusion or a provoked thinking when exploring the recent history and movements in architecture and position oneself in the current trends in the practice.
