WOHA completes mixed-use 'Sky Green' development

Back in 2012, the Taichung City Government and Feng Chia University invited WOHA to bring its "Breathing Architecture" exhibition to the city. Initially a part of the city government's Gateway Project Masterplan, the exhibition built on ideas focusing on the design principles of sustainability, low carbon emissions, and smart cities.

The first of it's kind in Taichung, WOHA was commissioned to design a green and sustainable mixed-use develop within the city. Dubbed "Sky Green," the project contains residential apartments, retail shops, and recreational facilities, all dispersed within two towers.

The Tower A apartments sport extended balconies, each with its own tree. The Tower B units have a more subtle green mesh-like facade. And at every 5 floors are Skygardens, allowing a natural flow of air while providing users a connectivity to the outside.

WOHA's Kampung Admiralty is crowned World Architecture Festival Building of the Year for 2018

Marking the end of the World Architecture Festival, the winner of the 2018 World Building of the Year was presented to Kampung Admiralty by WOHA Architects. Having also won the award for the Commercial Mixed - Completed Projects, the firm can now add this prestigious award to their repertoire of accolades.

WOHA builds Crowne Plaza Changi Airport hotel extension in just 26 days

WOHA unveiled the latest photos of their 103,495 square-foot extension for the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport (CPCA) hotel in Singapore. The extension was completed in a mere 26 days, according to the firm; quite the accomplishment considering the constrained site at one of the world's busiest airports. Completed last year, the 243-room hotel extension is Singapore's first private-sector commercial project that uses pre-fab, pre-finished volumetric construction techniques.

Client OUE Hospitality Trust found that “using the PPVC method has slashed manpower requirements on site by as much as 45 percent. It added that the use of PPVC has shaved off 17 percent in overall construction time, with about 40 percent in manpower savings,” WOHA describes.
