The design has since morphed into a better scalable row house version that will be rolled out next year. The homes are said to be fully recyclable and showcase Holcim's proprietary ECOPact low-carbon concrete and ECOPlanet low carbon cement products.</p>

I leave the past to other people.</p></em><br /><br /><p>The 1999 Pritzker Prize winner also delved into topics as far ranging as his yearslong <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150280085/norman-foster-digs-in-on-his-stance-on-airport-emissions" target="_blank">dispute</a> with environmental activists, representation of <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/329790/women-in-architecture" target="_blank">women in architecture</a>, engagements in Saudi Arabia, <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/1035435/neom" target="_blank">NEOM</a>, so-called "starchitects," and the world to come. The exhibition features some 130 major projects, covering areas like his <a href="https://archinect.com/news/bustler/8675/norman-foster-s-new-guggenheim-exhibition-tracks-the-impact-of-cars-on-high-culture-and-design" target="_blank">love for cars</a>, early collaboration with <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/1243/buckminster-fuller" target="_blank">Buckminster Fuller</a>, and more, all honed in on themes of "sustainability and anticipating the future."</p>

Titled the <em>Essential Homes Research Project</em>, the model is intended to “provide safety, comfort, and well-being for <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/534076/disaster-architecture" target="_blank">displaced communities</a>.”</p>
<p>The project is to be unveiled at the Time Space Existence exhibition organized by the European Cultural Center during the biennale, which will include the display of a real-size prototype in the Marinaressa Gardens. The prototype will be supported by an exhibition hosted in the Palazzo Mora, reflecting on the Biennale’s overall theme “<a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150340058/2023-venice-architecture-biennale-to-highlight-diversity-s-role-in-guiding-the-laboratory-of-the-future" target="_blank">The Laboratory of the Future</a>.”</p>

<p>Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov met with the architect Monday to discuss his vision for rehabilitating a city that is now <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2022/03/17/world/europe/russia-destroying-kharkiv.html" target="_blank">almost completely unrecognizable</a> after two months of brutal shelling. </p>
<p>In the meeting, Terekhov laid out his vision for a reborn city defined by a new “high-tech architecture” and master-planned by Foster to “provide a framework for the creation of Kharkiv as a city of the future.” </p>

<p>Now in its 11th year, the scholarship focuses on international research, in a location of the student’s choice, related to the survival of towns and cities. Previous winners have travelled through the Americas, Europe, Africa, South East Asia, the Middle, and Russia.</p>

<p>Followed from the <em>Future is Now</em> forum held in Madrid's Royal Theater on the 1st of June, Mayor of Madrid and Lord Foster brought together leading figures in the fields of science, design, architecture, politics, art, economics and history, to a capacity audience of 2,000 and 75,000 online viewers. </p>
<p>With the support of the Rolex Institute, the Foundation will host week-long events in its Madrid Headquarters in November 2017. Grants will be awarded to ten students from around the world for a series of talks, think tanks and workshops led by key individuals, including Norman Foster, on issues such as the city, infrastructure, mobility and technology. </p>
