Robert A.M. Stern Architects to author renovation of Austin’s historic UT Tower

Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA) has signed on to a new higher education project for the University of Texas at Austin. The project to renovate the historic UT Tower (aka the 'Main Building') back to its original 1937 appearance will be completed by the end of summer 2027. Restoration of its exterior will begin next month. The listed budget for the project is $70 million.

Mark Ferguson appointed Dean at The Catholic University of America School of Architecture and Planning

After 17 years, Randal Ott steps down at The Catholic University of America School of Architecture and Planning and will be succeeded by Mark Ferguson, partner of Ferguson & Shamamian Architects, L.L.P. The New York city firm is widely known for its classical and traditional style of architecture, with Ferguson heavily involved in the Institute of Classical Architecture having an award named after him in 2017. Ferguson will be taking over responsibilities as Dean on July 1st, 2020.

New Notre Dame School of Architecture building breaks ground

The University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Ind., has broken ground on a new home for the university's architecture school. [...] The new building will enable the university’s School of Architecture to add two graduate programs: historic preservation and real estate development. Walsh Family Hall will be the second element of a planned arts quadrangle. [...] The hall is designed by John Simpson Architects of London; Stantec is the architect of record.
