International students from YACademy's 'Architecture for Landscape' workshop develop bivouac shelters in the mountains of Italy's Aosta Valley

It was 2019 when, within the workshop of YACademy’s course in Architecture for Landscape, a group of international students developed the project of a bivouac for the Brédy family.

Today, thanks to that experience, in the mountains of Aosta Valley, a magnificent new intervention of contemporary architecture arises, signed by Chiara Tessarollo, Skye Sturm and Facundo Arboit, alumni of the prestigious international academy.

The story has an articulated and complex development and deserves to be told in detail.

Each year, YACademy courses offer their students the opportunity to work on real projects for clients of absolute prestige. Summer is a great time for aspiring students and professionals to enhance their skills and expand their portfolios. With the season quickly coming to a close and students ready to begin a new school year, let's take a look at a few of the architecture workshops and intensives around the world.

Spanning anywhere from one week to a full month, the following summer programs provide high school students, architecture students, and other adults without architecture backgrounds the ability to explore and expand their exposure to the field.

The Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture (ACADIA) conference is considered a premiere venue for the dissemination of cutting-edge work focusing on advanced computation and digital fabrication techniques, and Archinect is proud to be a media sponsor for the workshop portion of the event. A yearly event that attracts top-tier instructors and participants from around the globe, the 2016 workshops will take place from October 24-26th at the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. Organized around the conference title “Posthuman Frontiers: Data, Designers and Cognitive Machines”, seven workshops will spend three days exploring design philosophies in which computation, fabrication, material science, and sensory feedback are integrated into cohesive processes that exert their agency in the physical realm.
