Throughout the film, the duo pose questions on how rooted architecture practice is and how much the built and cultural environment feeds and shapes our imagination.</p> <p><br></p> <p>The film was awarded the&nbsp;<em>Artistic Vision Award</em> at DocAviv 2020, an Oscar-qualifying documentary-only festival. "The directors do not pretend to encompass the entire oeuvre of Ry&#363;e Nishizawa, but something in the intimacy of&nbsp;the car ride (the car being the undeniable film's supporting actor), creates exceptional conditions to getting to&nbsp;know his personality and his world," said the jurors in a statement.</p> <figure><p><a href="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/3b/3b3d3c893f44df1d25df9974ca219e11.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&amp;w=1028" target="_blank"><img src="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/3b/3b3d3c893f44df1d25df9974ca219e11.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&amp;w=514"></a></p></figure><figure><p><a href="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/3a/3a88bfbcb41a2cc864b67ce55ac57abb.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&amp;w=1028" target="_blank"><img src="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/3a/3a88bfbcb41a2cc864b67ce55ac57abb.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&amp;w=514"></a></p></figure><figure><figure><a href="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/23/23e317f73f701dcc7ef90ce66758d03b.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&amp;w=1028" target="_blank"><img src="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/23/23e317f73f701dcc7ef90ce66758d03b.jpg?auto=compress%2Cformat&amp;w=514"></a></figure></figure><p>The film is due to premier in many major architecture film festivals both in Europe and North America, with screenings at the next CAFx in Copenhagen, AFFR in Rotterda...</p> https://archinect.com/news/article/149941590/b-ka-lemoine-s-cinematic-canon-acquired-by-moma Bêka & Lemoine's cinematic canon acquired by MoMA Julia Ingalls 2016-04-20T14:08:00-04:00 >2018-01-30T06:16:04-05:00 <img src="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/wx/wxka8qjknmh88xtl.jpg?fit=crop&auto=compress%2Cformat&enlarge=true&w=1200" border="0" /><p>The way a building is envisioned to interact with people versus the way it actually does can be dramatically different, which is why the 16 films of Ila B&ecirc;ka&nbsp;and Louise Lemoine are both aesthetically stunning and humanistically delightful. <a href="http://archinect.com/news/article/146731731/ds-r-led-moma-redesign-scaled-back-more-details-released" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">MoMA</a> has acquired the pair's entire collection of work, from their first film, "Koolhaas Houselife" to their latest, ""The &infin; happiness."&nbsp;</p><p><img title="" alt="" src="http://cdn.archinect.net/images/650x/rc/rciaag9m4o8j0ivt.jpg"></p><p>Beka &amp; Lemoine has filmed the work of a variety of well-known architects, from <a href="http://archinect.com/firms/cover/39902/big-bjarke-ingels-group" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Bjarke Ingels</a> to <a href="http://archinect.com/news/article/136351063/frank-gehry-opens-up-about-the-emotional-side-of-his-architecture" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Frank Gehry</a> to <a href="http://archinect.com/firms/cover/341/renzo-piano-building-workshop" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Renzo Piano</a>.
