<img src="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/39/394ebe68e9536b407d9178563e205639.jpg?fit=crop&auto=compress%2Cformat&enlarge=true&w=1200" border="0" /><p><a href="https://archinect.com/cobe" target="_blank">Cobe</a> has completed work on a new outdoor concert space for <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/3691/copenhagen" target="_blank">Copenhagen</a> they say will lend a rich cultural and green balance to the outcrop of new development in the city’s inner harbor area that has been reproduced in abundance over the past two decades. </p>
<p>The artificial island space is dubbed The Opera Park and was constructed on a 231,000-square-foot plot adjacent to the Royal Danish Opera House. It serves as its visual counterpoint and is accessed via a landscaped bridge connector covered by a glass walkway.</p>

At night, the island would slide to cover the island and turn into a planetarium, its movement resembling that of a shell. A sloping beachfront would cover the parking area, and a public park would connect the mainland with the new basin.</p></em><br /><br /><p>Milan-based firm Lissoni Architettura created the winning entry for Arch Out Loud's ideas competition for a NYC aquarium and public waterfront. They propose a submerged aquarium called NYCAquatrium that will be located in a new basin along the Long Island City waterfront. </p>

A circular elevated promenade would encircle the island, which Kaufman says would contrast to the linear procession of the High Line. At ground level there will be a central reflecting pool with a promenade leading out to a marina.</p></em><br /><br /><p>New York architect <a href="http://www.eytankaufman.com/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Eytan Kaufman</a> has drawn up a conceptual plan for a nine-acre floating island across from Hudson Yards. The scheme, called <strong><a href="http://www.highcircle.net/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Hub on the Hudson</a></strong>, would connect the <a href="http://archinect.com/news/tag/2191/high-line" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">final leg of the High Line</a> with a pedestrian bridge over the West Side Highway that connects to the circular-shaped cultural and recreational center 700 feet into the river. </p>
