Archinect - News 2024-05-02T01:42:10-04:00 https://archinect.com/news/article/150343132/get-lectured-the-ohio-state-university-spring-23 Get Lectured: The Ohio State University, Spring '23 Josh Niland 2023-03-20T16:50:00-04:00 >2024-03-15T01:45:58-04:00 <img src="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/61/611c66ead95483cdfc60d5ee41e267a5.jpg?fit=crop&auto=compress%2Cformat&enlarge=true&w=1200" border="0" /><p>Today, Archinect is continuing our Get Lectured series with a look at the events taking place this semester on the campus of the <a href="https://archinect.com/KnowltonOSU" target="_blank">Knowlton School of Architecture</a> at the Ohio State University in Columbus.</p> <p>The spring has already seen appearances from Charles Renfro, Craig Dykers, Elissa Iturbe, Deanna van Buren, and Todd Gannon as part of the Baumer Lecture series, which will continue with <a href="https://archinect.com/schools/cover/150241982/university-of-north-carolina-at-chapel-hill" target="_blank">UNC Chapel Hill</a> professor Nichola Lowe on <a href="https://knowlton.osu.edu/events/2023/03/baumer-lecture-series-nichola-lowe" target="_blank">March 22</a> followed by a visit from <a href="https://archinect.com/GTArchitecture" target="_blank">Georgia Tech</a>&rsquo;s Catherine Ross on <a href="https://knowlton.osu.edu/events/2023/03/baumer-lecture-series-catherine-ross" target="_blank">March 29</a>.</p> <p>The next month will see the continuation of the Baumer series with a lecture from Seattle-based <a href="https://archinect.com/gustafsonguthrienichol" target="_blank">GGN</a> Associate Azzurra Cox on <a href="https://knowlton.osu.edu/events/2023/04/baumer-lecture-series-azzurra-cox" target="_blank">April 5</a>. Rockefeller Wing. Devoted to&nbsp;Africa, Oceania and the Americas,&nbsp;the forty-thousand-square-foot wing will be designed by the architect&nbsp;<a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/720579/kulapat-yantrasast" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Kulapat Yantrasast</a>&nbsp;and his firm <a href="https://archinect.com/wHY-site" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">wHY</a>, and is expected to complete in 2023.</p> <p>Over the years, Yantrasast's practice has built up a reputation for their modern and open art spaces. Their portfolio of projects includes the <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/149965336/calming-down-and-speeding-up-in-louisville-with-steven-ward-on-archinect-sessions-78" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Speed Art Museum in Kentucky</a>, Michigan's Grand Rapids Art Museum, and the <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/863326/marciano-art-foundation" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Marciano Art Foundation</a> in Los Angeles. His previous works at the Harvard Art Museums and at the Art Institute of Chicago, in particular, attracted the attention of the team at the Met.
