Get Lectured: Boston Architectural College, Fall '23

With the Fall term starting, architecture schools are getting ready to welcome students for another academic year. That also means another season of exciting lecture programs from schools. To kick off Archinect's Get Lectured Fall 2023 series, we highlight upcoming events from Boston Architectural College's Fall lecture program.

The School's Just Communities Fall 2023 lecture series started with a lecture from Hansel Bauman in his presentation DEAFSPACE: Cultural Origins and Lessons on Inclusive Design for All on August 15. On September 13, the school welcomes architect, planner, and educator David Lee of Stull and Lee, Inc, who will present "When 1+1 = 3."

Architect Pascale Sablan will deliver the school's Child's Memorial lecture on October 5, where she will provide an engaging discussion titled "I Was Asked to Stand." Boston Architectural College (BAC) announces its Spring 2021 Student Lecture series. Their Spring theme "Just Space" welcomes five speakers whose work in architecture, design advocacy, and urbanism highlights the important conversations relating to social and racial justice needed in academia and professional practice.

Archinect's ongoing Get Lectured series features each school's lectured series and their graphic design prowess with eye-catching lecture posters.

Boston Architectural College announces Glen S. LeRoy as new president

The dean of a Michigan architectural school has been tapped to head the financially struggling Boston Architectural College, after a year-long search that started with the dismissal of longtime BAC president Theodore Landsmark. Glen S. LeRoy, 64, who oversees Lawrence Technological University’s College of Architecture and Design in Southfield, Mich., will become president of Boston Architectural College Sept. 1.

We are tremendously pleased to share with you the news that after a national search, Glen S. LeRoy, FAIA, FAICP, has been selected to lead the Boston Architectural College as our next president. Mr. LeRoy currently serves as the dean and a professor at the College of Architecture and Design at Lawrence Technological University in Detroit. Mr. LeRoy stood out from a field of talented individuals for his commitment to practice-based learning, his great success at leading an urban design college during challenging times, and his creativity and ability to attract investment.
