Esperdy, who had already been serving in an interim capacity since 2022, will take office effective July 1st and lead the college's strategic plan in unison with NJIT stated goals to become a new "nexus of innovation" just a few miles away from New York City. </p>
<p>"Sometimes a search affirms what you already have, in this case, a thoughtful and passionate leader who connects well with students, faculty, administrators and staff members alike," NJIT's President Teik C. Lim said of her retention. "Also, we gain continuity and someone who already understands Hillier and its long-term priorities. This is a win-win."<br></p>

Today, our tour continues with a look at public programming at the <a href="https://archinect.com/design.njit.edu" target="_blank">New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT)</a> Hillier College of Architecture and Design (HCAD) this Fall.</p>
<p>This year marks the 50th anniversary of the architect program at NJIT and the 15th anniversary of HCAD. The College will be hosting a Gala reception on October 26 that includes a silent auction of different faculty members’ artwork. <p>Events began with the Alumni Award Winners Roundtable on September 28 and will be followed by another titled '<em>Whither Brick City?</em>' and focused on development in the city of Newark on October 12. <p>The school shares: “Since 2007, an endowment established with the American Institute of Architects New Jersey Chapter (AIANJ) has increased the breadth of the lecture series by allowing for the establishment of the AIANJ Endowed Lecture each April and a symposium each fall.”</p>
<p>The semester has already seen a visit from <a href="https://archinect.com/princetonsoa" target="_blank">Princeton University</a> professor and Atelier Office Principal <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150053542/mitch-mcewen-and-marc-miller-steal-the-mic-archinect-sessions-118" target="_blank">Mitch McEwen</a> on January 30. Events will continue on February 20 when <a href="https://archinect.com/schools/cover/2023/texas-tech-university" target="_blank">Texas Tech University</a>’s Ersela Kripa comes to campus to discuss her work with <a href="https://archinect.com/agency" target="_blank">AGENCY</a>. She will be followed on March 2 by <a href="https://archinect.com/parsons" target="_blank">Parsons School of Design</a> professor Allan Wexler. </p>

<p>Dr. Kolareivc, who is regarded as an expert on the use of digital technologies in design and production, received a Diploma Engineer of Architecture degree from the <a href="https://archinect.com/schools/cover/15102764/university-of-belgrade" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">University of Belgrade</a> and a Master of Design Studies and Doctor of Design from <a href="https://archinect.com/harvard" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Harvard University</a>.</p>
<p>He is one of the founding directors of the Laboratory for Integrative Design at the <a href="https://archinect.com/schools/cover/5965/university-of-calgary" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">University of Calgary</a>, where he held a Chair in Integrated Design from 2007 to 2016 as well as other positions such as associate dean and co-director of the Computational Design Media Program.</p>
