Iwan and Manuela Wirth are reportedly buying Richard Neutra's iconic Lovell Health House in Los Angeles

The Lovell Health House, as the behemoth on Dundee Drive came to be known, remains a dumbfounding sight. It occupies a steep slope at the edge of Griffith Park, plunging three stories from street level. [...] It is a monumental yet unreal creation—a silver-white vessel that seems to have docked at the top of a canyon.

Neutra's 1929 home has and was featured in the classic 1997 film LA Confidential. Wirth's eponymous gallery first established a presence in Downtown Los Angeles in 2016 and is set to expand to a second site soon with some help from Selldorf Architects, who has designed seven of the gallery’s sixteen spaces worldwide thus far.

The 4616 Dundee Drive property in Los Feliz has been on the market for over a year at a listing price north of $9.75 million. Its current owner inherited the architectural gem from his parents, who purchased it for $60,000 in 1960. Hauser & Wirth Menorca to open after two-year conservation project

Through a two-year conservation project, Hauser & Wirth has repurposed a collection of historic buildings on Isla del Rey, located in the port of Mahon in Menorca, into a 1,500 square meter art center. An education program has been developed to engage the local community and visitors in contemporary art through screenings, talks, and workshops.

Throughout the site, a sculpture trail will feature work by Louise Bourgeois, Eduardo Chillida, and Frantz West, among others. A UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Hauser & Wirth partnered with the Menorca Preservation Fund to realize the project.

Paris-based Argentinian architect Luis Laplace led the restoration of the project. Tiled roofing and terrazzo flooring used in the project was created with local stone, and the interior architecture features the original restored wooden beams.

Smiljan Radić’s Serpentine Pavilion Moves to Somerset

Last year, Chilean architect Smiljan Radić revealed his Serpentine Pavilion—an enormous shell-shaped structure perched atop jagged quarry stones in Hyde Park—as part of the London gallery’s prestigious architecture program. Thousands of visitors examined its translucent fiberglass walls over the course of the summer. This week, the pavilion will be unveiled at its new, permanent home, amid the spring gardens of Hauser & Wirth Somerset in Bruton, about two and a half hours from London by train.
