<img src="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/dd/dd2a47867c2602f98be5f2fef30070c9.jpg?fit=crop&auto=compress%2Cformat&enlarge=true&w=1200" border="0" /><p>The fall semester is almost upon us, and to go with it, the <a href="https://archinect.com/schools/cover/1878/the-university-of-hong-kong" target="_blank">University of Hong Kong</a> has shared its public programs information to kick off our annual <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/336082/get-lectured/" target="_blank">Get Lectured</a> events roundup for the 2024-25 academic year.</p>
<p>The ‘Good Life’ series begins with the <a href="https://archinect.com/firms/cover/1506/atelier-bow-wow" target="_blank">Atelier Bow-Wow</a> co-founder Momoyo Kaijima on<a href="https://www.arch.hku.hk/event_/momoyo-kaijima/" target="_blank"> September 12</a>. She is followed by <a href="https://archinect.com/harvard" target="_blank">Harvard GSD</a> dean <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/844908/sarah-whiting" target="_blank">Sarah M. Whiting</a> on <a href="https://www.arch.hku.hk/event_/sarah-whiting/" target="_blank">September 17</a>. Columbia GSAPP dean <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/564399/andres-jaque" target="_blank">Andrés Jacque</a> follows on September 24. Next year’s <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/1285373/venice-architect-biennale" target="_blank">Venice Architecture Biennale</a> curator <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/62933/carlo-ratti" target="_blank">Carlo Ratti</a> follows him for a lecture on (what else?) <em>SENSEABLE CITIES</em> on <a href="https://www.arch.hku.hk/event_/carlo-ratti/" target="_blank">September 26</a>. </p>
<p>The popular sculptor Danh Vo will speak on October 31, preceding a lecture from <em>e-flux</em> journal co-founder Nikolaus Hirsch on December 3. Another by <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/483737/beatriz-colomina" target="_blank">Beatriz Colomina</a> concludes the term on December 5. All events take place in Knowles Hall and will begin at 6:30 PM unless otherwise listed.</p>

<p>Lectures this term are organized under the theme 'The Good Life.' The school shares: "Increasingly scarce resources — from the biosphere to the economy — and extreme unbalances in their distribution call for action. The global model as we knew it requires some reconsideration if we are to prevent continuous meltdowns. If crises are opportunities to discern, and examine, what is <em>The Good Life</em>?"</p>
<p>Paolo Tombesi begins the series on Tuesday, <a href="https://www.arch.hku.hk/event_/paolo-tombesi/" target="_blank">January 23</a>, with a look at the <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/268008/sydney-opera-house" target="_blank">Sydney Opera House</a> at 50. He will be followed on Tuesday, February 23, by a lecture from Bas Smets on microclimates and urban development. <a href="https://archinect.com/harvard" target="_blank">Harvard GSD</a> professor <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/1115586/mark-lee" target="_blank">Mark Lee</a> follows Smets on February 29, preceding artist and television producer Christopher Roth on March 14.</p>
