While all regions are affected, fast-growing cities in the Middle East, south-east Asia and the western Pacific are the most impacted with many showing pollution levels at five to 10 times above WHO recommended levels.</p></em><br /><br /><p>According to the WHO data, the most polluted city in the world is Onitsha, a booming port city on the coast of Nigeria. With almost 600 micrograms per cubic meter, the city has around 30 times the recommended level of PM10 particles (the larger, but still dangerous, air pollutant particles).</p><p>In related news:</p><ul><li><a href="http://archinect.com/news/article/149941633/these-are-the-most-polluted-cities-in-the-us" target="_blank">These are the most-polluted cities in the US</a></li><li><a href="http://archinect.com/news/article/149507559/smog-choked-beijing-plans-ventilation-corridors-to-provide-much-needed-fresh-air" target="_blank">Smog-choked Beijing plans "ventilation corridors" to provide much-needed fresh air</a></li><li><a href="http://archinect.com/news/article/146755050/more-and-more-people-are-dying-as-a-result-of-air-pollution-in-england" target="_blank">More and more people are dying as a result of air pollution in England</a></li><li><a href="http://archinect.com/news/article/143127994/reducing-turin-s-smog-with-free-public-transit" target="_blank">Reducing Turin's smog with free public transit</a></li><li><a href="http://archinect.com/news/article/144970663/new-delhi-mandates-odd-even-car-rationing-to-fight-world-s-worst-air-pollution" target="_blank">New Delhi mandates odd-even car rationing to fight world's worst air pollution</a></li></ul> https://archinect.com/news/article/113484546/world-health-organization-one-roof-proposal World Health Organization One Roof Proposal Jaakko van 't Spijker 2014-11-12T12:27:00-05:00 >2014-11-20T20:17:59-05:00 <img src="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/tm/tm6f4y5aqrl7mkqb.jpg?fit=crop&auto=compress%2Cformat&enlarge=true&w=1200" border="0" /><p>For the <a href="http://www.who.int/en/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">World Health Organization</a> Geneva Headquarters <a href="http://www.competitions.org/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=1390:who-headquarters-building-extension-geneva&amp;catid=37:open-competitions&amp;Itemid=50" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">competition</a>&nbsp;team jvantspijker proposed a transformation of the existing building from a Slab to T-typology and to renew the connection to the landscape.
