Moore as its next Executive Director, following a thorough national search. Moore succeeds Rosalie Genevro, who announced her <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150324678/rosalie-genevro-steps-down-as-the-arch-league-s-executive-director-after-37-years" target="_blank">decision to step down</a> last year after leading the organization for nearly 40 years. </p>
<p>“Jacob brings tremendous passion and a deep knowledge of the most important forces and issues impacting the built environment today,” said Mario Gooden, President of The League’s board of directors. “His vision for the future of The League and his commitment to equity, spatial justice, and the environment make him the ideal person to shape our next chapter.” <br></p>

<img src="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/65/657642368ba7d9a59edb0109eeeedaf9.jpg?fit=crop&auto=compress%2Cformat&enlarge=true&w=1200" border="0" /><p>An annual award with a growing reputation as one of architectural academia’s most dynamic new prize competitions is making headlines again today after <a href="https://archinect.com/columbiagsapp" target="_blank">Columbia University</a>’s <a href="https://archinect.com/firms/cover/149943915/the-temple-hoyne-buell-center-for-the-study-of-american-architecture-columbia-university" target="_blank">Temple Hoyne Buell Center</a> and the <a href="https://archinect.com/firms/cover/49082200/association-of-collegiate-schools-of-architecture" target="_blank">Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA)</a> announced the winners of this year’s 2022 Course Development Prize in Architecture, Climate Change, and Society.</p>
<p>The fourth edition of the award featured a variety of different seminars and studios that incorporate heavily interdisciplinary methods to tackle a range of topics within architecture and urban planning subspecialties. Courses will be taught at their respective universities within the next two years and will receive a cash award to help facilitate their instruction. Winning proposals will be presented at the ACSA’s annual meeting when it begins in Los Angeles on March 17th. </p>

<p>The jury selected five courses "that seek the kind of realism that redefines problems and leaves room for imagination. The courses will reach out to neighbors to cultivate skills fostering a more resilient society." $50,000 in prize money will be split amongst each winner. In addition to funding, each course will receive support to lead their course at their host institution within the next two years.</p>

<p>The competition, launched in <a href="https://www.acsa-arch.org/resources/faculty-resources/course-development-prize/" target="_blank">2019</a>, aims to bring $50,000 in funding to five university teams that are each tackling a different facet of the climate crisis through cross-disciplinary research that proposes "methods and themes that innovate within their institutional setting" while also "asking hard questions of students that are equal in weight to the hard questions being asked of society as it grapples with the intertwined causes and effects of climate change." </p>
