Gas Pipelines Explode in Taiwan City Killing 24: The cause of the propene pipeline explosion is still unknown, but officials noticed irregularities in the pipe's flow hours beforehand, without investigating further.
Jacko's Neverland Ranch is up for sale at $50-75M: Michael Jackson's Disneyland-esque compound in Santa Barbara was handed back to Tom Barrack's Colony Capital in 2008, when Jackson was heavily in debt. With $5M in annual upkeep, Colony Capital is now selling the property.
Plans approved for Damien Hirst's village on the British coast: Hirst will collaborate with Architects Rundell Associates on the 75-home city. Renderings are surprisingly conventional when compared to Hirst's work.

The 2,700 acre property in Santa Barbara, California, was bought by Jackson in 1988 at the height of his fame, a place where the pop legend was reputed to have found sanctuary and happiness away from the illness and controversy that plagued his adult life. First up, announcements for the winners of the Michael Jackson monument design competition are getting pushed back due to extended jury deliberations. For the public choice, we'll be cleaning up a lot of the votes, deleting votes from members who gave ratings of all 1's and a lone 10, and removing identical voting sequences from members sharing identical IP addresses. We'll hopefully end up with something more fair from the thousands of votes that were cast in the last few days.

To keep things exciting we're serving up a couple new features today. I'm excited to introduce you to a writer that you'll be seeing more of on Archinect. Katya Tylevich shares with us an interview she recently conducted with Michael Jantzen, covering his conceptual architecture projects, internet press and his recent move from LA to St. Louis.
