One that is geared specifically for the emerging generation of students and professionals. Originally established by Harvard's GSD in 1935 as the "Arthur Wheelwright Traveling Fellowship", the prize is meant to extend travel-research opportunities to alumni. As of 2013, eligibility has expanded to any architect who has graduated within the last 15 years from a professionally accredited architecture degree program. The focus is on international research, requiring the winner of the Prize spend at least 6 months working out of their home country, and not in the United States.

More information about the Wheelwright Prize and applying are on Bustler.
