Julia Ingalls highlighted the work of Design Build Research (DBR), based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Currently a non-profit institute led by architect Michael Green and creative entrepreneur Scott Hawthorn, one of the earliest projects was building a theater when TED headquarters’ moved from Long Beach, California to Vancouver.

midlander countered "I'd love to see some plans - it's hard to figure out the scale of things or the circulation strategy from these little renderings...While I appreciate Horsley's criticism, he seems to be missing a sense of perspective on this. For example when he suggests adding a direct subway link to Manhattan would be an inconsequential couple million. Off by a factor of 5,000 or so I think."

Nicholas Korody interviewed Andrés Jacque (of the Office for Political Innovation ) about COSMO, the winning entry of this year’s MoMA PS1 Young Architect’s Program competition. Therein he argued "I believe that the architect’s role nowadays can also be providing alternatives, and enriching through diversity the collective catalogue of desirable possibilities."

Thayer-D commented "I don't think this qualifies as architecture, but it's very interesting" to which Kozumelle responded "I have seen this in person and it is not architecture in the strictest sense but still a wonderful, fantastic idea. Jaque's ideas are always politically charged and veer into other territories and he does it well."

In Screen/Print #26: an interview with Jessica Walsh, currently half of design firm Sagmeister & Walsh , was excerpted, from the 2nd issue of Intern Magazine (devoted to "intern culture" in the creative industries).

Darkman was confused "Strange choice to interview the most hated designer in the world for Intern magazine...She almost brags about not paying interns...Reads like PR I've already read". Similarly Mr_Wiggin wrote "seems, to me, diametric to the message Intern Magazine should be publishing".

Malaysia-born Melbourne-based sculptor Daniel Dorall spoke with Archinect for the latest installment of Working out of the Box. He finished up his Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Melbourne in 2005, as he explains that now

"In a nutshell, I make miniature objects out of cardboard – it usually takes the form of the maze...creating walk through maze-installations". midlander felt the work was "Fantastic! Witty and meticulous".

The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) announced that it will be making significant changes to its Intern Development Program (IDP). Separate from other considerations to change the IDP's terminology, this decision chiefly includes two phases: (1) the removal of "elective" hourly requirements, and (2) condensing IDP's experience areas from the current 17 into six "practice-based categories".

Amelia Taylor-Hochberg Editorial Manager for Archinect, penned another essay in the "non-conclusive series" AfterShock. Titled Brains and the City, in it she explores a new world of EEG urbanism, GSAPP’s Cloud Lab, brain computer interfaces and human architect-slash-neuroscientist designer(s).

Chris Teeter is very interested in this line of research. He believes, "I think as a good option for finding a 'legitimacy' to the art and science of architecture, neuroscience, and more specifically phenomenology-neuroscience-architecture is a very exciting path what tons of potential."
