<img src="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/02/02e49d8b96947ce047609478d8d5c706.jpeg?fit=crop&auto=compress%2Cformat&enlarge=true&w=1200" border="0" /><p>The <a href="https://archinect.com/SARUP" target="_blank">University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning</a> has announced the recipient of the 2021 <a href="https://bustler.net/news/tags/marcus-prize-for-architecture/10897" target="_blank">Marcus Prize</a>. Established in 2005 as a biennial, international architecture award, the Marcus Prize recognizes and honors architects for their work within the field in addition to recognizing "the promise of their future contributions to the field of architecture." This year's Marcus Prize is awarded to architects Antón García-Abril and Débora Mesa of <a href="https://archinect.com/firms/cover/67675/ensamble-studio" target="_blank">Ensamble Studio</a>.</p>

<img src="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/jf/jf7fgt47watxxi9r.jpg?fit=crop&auto=compress%2Cformat&enlarge=true&w=1200" border="0" /><p>Widely hailed in the architects-under-50 bracket, <a href="http://archinect.com/firms/cover/1887657/rex" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">REX</a> founding principal and president Joshua Prince-Ramus will receive the sixth Marcus Prize, as announced today by the <a href="http://archinect.com/schools/cover/13338/university-of-wisconsin-milwaukee" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee</a> School of Architecture and Urban Planning (SARUP). The prize is awarded to architects who have demonstrated at least 10 years of exceptional practice and show a "strong trajectory to greatness", as SARUP describes.</p><p>In addition to the $100,000 cash prize, Prince-Ramus will make scheduled visits to SARUP and participate in public lectures and and workshops during the spring 2016 semester. He'll also be leading a graduate design studio at the school alongside Adjunct Associate Professor, Matt Jarosz. Milwaukee, WI, July 3, 2013. International architect <a href="http://www.sou-fujimoto.net/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Sou Fujimoto</a> has been awarded the fifth Marcus Prize, an architectural prize offered worldwide to recognize architects ‘on a trajectory to greatness.’ This $100,000 award, supported by the Marcus Corporation Foundation and administered by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning, includes a cash prize to the recipient and supports a design studio at the school that will be collaboratively led by Fujimoto. He was selected from a pool of international nominees, all who were required to demonstrate at least ten years of proven, exceptional practice.</p>
