The current associate professor and interim associate director of <a href="https://archinect.com/schools/cover/764/virginia-polytechnic-institute-and-state-university-virginia-tech" target="_blank">Virginia Tech</a>&rsquo;s School of Architecture will take over duties effective July 1st. Her appointment follows the departure of <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/2259813/heather-woofter" target="_blank">Heather Woofter</a>, who <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150353669/heather-woofter-named-new-dean-of-ut-austin-s-school-of-architecture" target="_blank">left St. Louis</a> to become the new Dean at the <a href="https://archinect.com/utsoa" target="_blank">University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture</a> last summer.</p> <p>"Aki is an accomplished architect and designer, a respected scholar and a dedicated teacher and mentor.
