Injuries requiring investigatory actions increased by 17%, while the leading cause of death continued to be accidental falls as construction activity has largely remained unchanged in each of the five boroughs.</p> <p>The report includes statistics about the number of new building permit issuances and an increase in the number of new housing units completed between 2020 and the end of last year.
