<img src="https://archinect.gumlet.io/uploads/47/47edc752c63f9f6b45cb520583daf48b.jpeg?fit=crop&auto=compress%2Cformat&enlarge=true&w=1200" border="0" /><p>Plans for what would be the tallest tower in <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/7094/miami" target="_blank">Miami</a> have been put forth by a local developer seeking permission for a new high-rise building in the Brickell commercial district designed by <a href="https://archinect.com/bmaarchitects.com" target="_blank">BMA Architects</a>.</p>
<p>Their proposal for a tower at 190 Southwest Street is advancing under the tentative name Calle 8. At 870 feet above sea level, it would surpass the Panorama Tower (also in Brickell) and the <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150052210/new-interior-renderings-revealed-of-aston-martin-s-luxury-apartment-tower-in-miami" target="_blank">Aston Martin Residences Downtown</a> for the record-setting tallest structure in Miami and the state of Florida. </p>

Developers are aiming for 464 residential units and considering several options, including a concert hall, for the ground-level space that’s sheathed in a perforated metal screen according to renderings that appeared in<em> </em><a href="https://floridayimby.com/2024/01/updated-plans-filed-for-calle-8-in-brickell-gets-height-boost-to-856-feet-above-ground-across-65-stories.html" target="_blank">Florida YIMBY</a> along with news of the height variance increase update to its permitting application. </p>
