Market for architectural services to reach $523.2 billion by 2030, new study projects

A new study conducted by the group Grand View Research Inc. has indicated a likely rise in the global demand for architectural services to a market share of $523.2 billion by the end of the decade.

The study cites the rates of urbanization in countries such as Brazil and India alongside a worldwide focus on the creation of affordable housing as the main factors supporting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.8% from 2023 to 2030.

Populous reveals new esports arena design for Saudi Arabia's Qiddiya megaproject

Populous has announced its plans for an esports gaming center in the new Qiddiya City entertainment district of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The proposed Qiddiya City Esports Arena is included under the Saudi Vision 2030 umbrella and serves a considerable market of gaming fans within the country that is anticipated to grow to contribute $13 billion to the country’s GDP annually in the same time period.

Populous will leverage a considerable past experience in esports and gaming, including the NBA 2K League Broadcast Arena, Fortress Melbourne, and the new Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The City of London Corporation has revealed new images depicting the 2030 skyline of the Square Mile ahead of the completion of a planned cluster of tall buildings that are expected by the end of the decade.

The plans depicted include the 11-building ‘City Cluster’, which strategically closes an existing gap between Rafael Viñoly’s 20 Fenchurch Street (aka the “Walkie-Talkie" tower) and adjacent plots in the body's local plan. Other key areas of change included in the City Plan 2040 call for the construction of new pedestrian routes and public green space, added ground-level accommodations for retail, and a mix of education and cultural spaces.
