2014 ONE Prize “Smart Dock” results reveal two first-prize winners

Interestingly enough, the ONE Prize "Smart Dock" competition has two 1st prize winners for 2014. Organized by Terreform ONE, this year's theme had participants propose a new design and science educational facility for the renovated Building 128 in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The program of the collaborative educational facility will also include a public outreach center for socio-ecological design as well as spaces for lectures, events, and design studios for about 30 graduate students.

Out of 92 teams from 22 countries, the jury — chaired by Christian Hubert of Christian Hubert Studio and Chair of Terreform ONE — awarded two 1st prize winners, one 3rd prize winner, and one honorable mention.

1st Prize ($3500): THE LUCENT CUBE

[CONTAINED] - ONE Prize 2013 Stormproof finalist entry

Here's our latest feature from the ONE Prize 2013: Stormproof competition, wherein participants had to propose smartly designed resilient cities prepared to face the challenges of severe climate conditions.

Specifically designed for New York City's coast, [CONTAINED] by Ishaan Kumar, Arianna Armelli, and David Sepulveda was a finalist entry in the international competition.

Designed for the Atlantic resort Ocean City on the coast of Maryland, "OCEAN+CITY" by Will Belcher, Joey Hays, Chris Landau, and Henry Moll is an entry the team submitted to this year's ONE Prize: Stormproof competition. Participants in the international competition had to propose smartly designed resilient cities ready to face the challenges of severe climate conditions.

The winners have been revealed for the ONE Prize 2013 international design competition! For this year's "Stormproof" theme, participants had to create smartly designed resilient cities ready to face the challenges of severe climate conditions. The competition, organized by Terreform ONE, drew submissions from 168 teams and 310 team members from more than 15 countries and five continents.

Back in August, Bustler published the twenty shortlisted entries of ONE PRIZE 2012: FROM BLIGHT TO MIGHT, the open international design competition for transforming cities with innovation. Terreform ONE has announced twenty finalists of its open international design competition, ONE PRIZE 2012: FROM BLIGHT TO MIGHT. The competition drew 115 teams and 655 team members from more than 20 countries and five continents. Many questioned the American Dream and offered new 21st century possibilities. Several projects called for a rethinking of the boundary between the derelict area and its adjacent urban fabric.

Terreform ONE has announced the winners of ONE PRIZE: Water as the 6th Borough, the open international design competition to envision the sixth borough of New York City. ONE PRIZE is an annual design and science award to promote green design in cities. The 2011 edition turned its focus to New York and its waterways, re-imagining recreational space, public transportation, local industry, and native environment in the city.
