Which five posters racked up the top votes?</p>
<p>The <a href="https://archinect.com/utsoa" target="_blank">University of Texas at Austin</a> School of Architecture took the top prizes for their <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150322723/get-lectured-the-university-of-texas-at-austin-fall-22" target="_blank">Fall '22 </a>and <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150335540/get-lectured-university-of-texas-at-austin-spring-23" target="_blank">Spring '23 lecture poster</a> designs. The team behind their Fall poster shared that they utilized Midjourney to help create the visual theme, which can be seen in both posters. Third place went to the <a href="https://archinect.com/UICSoA" target="_blank">University of Illinois Chicago</a> School of Architecture's Spring '23 poster, followed by a fourth-place tie from the <a href="https://archinect.com/SARUP" target="_blank">University of Milwaukee</a> School of Architecture & Urban Planning and their Fall '22 and Spring '23 lecture posters. <em><br></em></p>
<p>Also among the top ten poster designs in the online popularity contest were <a href="https://archinect.com/schools/cover/150065140/thomas-jefferson-university" target="_blank">Thomas Jefferson University</a>, <a href="https://archinect.com/uclaaud" target="_blank">UCLA</a>, <a href="https://archinect.com/cudenver" target="_blank">University of Colorado at Denver</a>, <a href="https://archinect.com/washingtonuniversity" target="_blank">Washington University in St. Louis</a>, <a href="https://archinect.com/schools/cover/15474190/east-los-angeles-college" target="_blank">East Los Angeles College</a>, and <a href="https://archinect.com/syracuse" target="_blank">Syracuse University</a>. <br></p>

<p>As we prepare for the upcoming Fall term, which <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/2065151/fall-2022-lectures" target="_blank">Fall 2022</a> and <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/2155914/spring-2023-lectures" target="_blank">Spring 2023</a> lecture poster will win the top spot for our latest popularity vote? </p>
<p>In our last poll, <a href="https://archinect.com/BostonArchitecturalCollege" target="_blank">Boston Architectural College</a>'s Spring 2021 poster took home the first prize, followed by the <a href="https://archinect.com/daniels" target="_blank">University of Toronto</a>'s Winter/Spring poster winning second place, and <a href="https://archinect.com/woodbury" target="_blank">Woodbury University</a> taking the third and fourth spots for their Spring and Fall poster submissions.<br></p>

<p>Events continue on April 28 with a visit from <a href="https://archinect.com/schools/cover/38685347/universidad-iberoamericana-tijuana" target="_blank">Universidad Iberoamericana</a> professor Denise Luna. She will be followed by <a href="https://archinect.com/sciarc" target="_blank">SCI-Arc</a> faculty member and undergraduate programs char Marcelyn Gow, who will speak on May 5. <a href="https://archinect.com/firms/cover/149986208/dosu-studio-architecture" target="_blank">DOSU</a> Principal and <a href="https://archinect.com/uscarchitecture" target="_blank">USC School of Architecture</a> associate professor Doris Sung will come to campus to conclude the semester on May 19.</p>

<p>This semester has brought speakers like Shawn Evans and Garron Yepa of the <a href="https://archinect.com/firms/cover/106488/mass-design-group" target="_blank">MASS Design Group</a>, current <a href="https://archinect.com/firms/cover/150230590/national-organization-of-minority-architects-noma" target="_blank">NOMA</a> President Pascale Sablan, and alumni and <a href="https://archinect.com/firms/cover/72418897/hdr" target="_blank">HDR</a> principal Sara Gally, among others.</p>
<p>The school shares: "The College of Architecture and the Built Environment’s 2022-23 Lecture Series is titled “Regenerate.” By definition, to regenerate implies future action. It means to form or create again; to be spiritually reborn or converted; and to restore to a better, higher, more worthy state. This theme, Regenerate, encourages voices that not only envision and strategize, but move forward in building new narratives of open and interactive design processes, community coherence, and civic and spatial opportunities to the CABE Lecture Series."<br></p>

<p>The spring has already seen appearances from Charles Renfro, Craig Dykers, Elissa Iturbe, Deanna van Buren, and Todd Gannon as part of the Baumer Lecture series, which will continue with <a href="https://archinect.com/schools/cover/150241982/university-of-north-carolina-at-chapel-hill" target="_blank">UNC Chapel Hill</a> professor Nichola Lowe on <a href="https://knowlton.osu.edu/events/2023/03/baumer-lecture-series-nichola-lowe" target="_blank">March 22</a> followed by a visit from <a href="https://archinect.com/GTArchitecture" target="_blank">Georgia Tech</a>’s Catherine Ross on <a href="https://knowlton.osu.edu/events/2023/03/baumer-lecture-series-catherine-ross" target="_blank">March 29</a>.</p>
<p>The next month will see the continuation of the Baumer series with a lecture from Seattle-based <a href="https://archinect.com/gustafsonguthrienichol" target="_blank">GGN</a> Associate Azzurra Cox on <a href="https://knowlton.osu.edu/events/2023/04/baumer-lecture-series-azzurra-cox" target="_blank">April 5</a>. Her visit precedes the series’ conclusion with a presentation from the school’s 2022-23 LeFevre Fellow Georgina Baronian on <a href="https://bustler.net/events/13797/baumer-lecture-series-georgina-baronian" target="_blank">April 21</a>. </p>

Today we look at events and speakers coming to <a href="https://archinect.com/syracuse" target="_blank">Syracuse University’s School of Architecture</a> this semester beginning with South Korean critic Jooeun Sung, who visited campus on <a href="https://soa.syr.edu/calendar/#!view/event/date/20230124/event_id/1207" target="_blank">January 24</a> to speak about notions of empathy and values as they relate to architecture.</p>
<p>Desegregation activist and Biden Administration appointee Sara Bronin on January 26. Following Bronin’s visit precedes a guest lecture from historian and preservation specialist Jeffrey A. “Free” Harris on <a href="https://soa.syr.edu/calendar/#!view/event/date/20230203/event_id/1215" target="_blank">February 3</a>, sponsored by the school’s <a href="https://soa.syr.edu/calendar/#!view/event/date/20230213/event_id/1229" target="_blank">National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS)</a> chapter. His appearance will be followed by an alumni panel discussion on February 10, and a presentation in New York City from Harvard GSD faculty member Ruo Jia on <a href="https://soa.syr.edu/calendar/#!view/event/date/20230213/event_id/1229" target="_blank">February 13</a>.</p>

<p>The month kicks off with <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/1869633/mario-gooden" target="_blank">Mario Gooden</a>’s <a href="https://samfoxschool.wustl.edu/calendar/events/575-abend-family-visiting-critic-endowed-lecture-mario-gooden" target="_blank">February 6 </a>lecture on his practice and recent high-profile designs, followed by a visit from photographer and digital artist Al-An deSouza on <a href="https://samfoxschool.wustl.edu/calendar/events/576-mfa-in-visual-art-program-lecture-al-an-de-souza" target="_blank">February 8</a>. Installation artist Alison Hilmer will follow on<a href="https://samfoxschool.wustl.edu/calendar/events/577-mfa-in-visual-art-program-lecture-alison-hiltner" target="_blank"> February 22</a>, and Artemas Quibble founder Jason Ross will conclude things with a visit to campus on <a href="https://samfoxschool.wustl.edu/calendar/events/578-wallace-herndon-smith-distinguished-visiting-faculty-lecture-jason-ross" target="_blank">February 23</a> to discuss his career as an apparel and accessories designer.</p>
<p>March’s events begin with a visit from Mark Lee and Sharon Johnston on <a href="https://samfoxschool.wustl.edu/calendar/events/579-coral-courts-lecture-sharon-johnston-and-mark-lee" target="_blank">March 1</a> to discuss the work of their <a href="https://archinect.com/firms/cover/4256960/johnston-marklee" target="_blank">firm</a>’s recent projects in Asia and the United States. <p>The school shares that this term’s theme revolves around an examination of “extractivism” and the role architects play in shaping “material economies.” Events began on <a href="https://soa.cmu.edu/events/2023/1/23/xu-tiantian-lecture" target="_blank">January 23</a> with a <a href="https://vimeo.com/792740098?embedded=true&source=video_title&owner=10079687" target="_blank">virtual lecture</a> from DNA Architects founder Xu Tiantian. Next up is a lecture from Pittsburgh Department of City Planning Director Karen Abrams on <a href="https://soa.cmu.edu/events/2023/2/6/-karen-abrams-lecture" target="_blank">February 6</a>, followed by a panel discussion on Non-Extractive Practices and Non-Human Species moderated by CMU visiting professor and Nepali-Canadian designer <a href="https://soa.cmu.edu/priyanka-bista" target="_blank">Priyanka Bista</a> on <a href="https://soa.cmu.edu/events/2023/2/13/non-extractive-practices-and-non-human-species" target="_blank">February 13</a> in the school’s Kresge Theatre.</p>

<p>Events began on January 23 with a visit from <a href="https://archinect.com/agency" target="_blank">AGENCY</a>’s Ersela Kripa, and distinguished <a href="https://archinect.com/washingtonuniversity" target="_blank">Washington University in St. Louis </a>professor Ian Bogost will close the month today, <a href="https://arch.usc.edu/events/ian-bogost" target="_blank">January 30</a>, with a lecture about his use of video game design to touch on various political topics, including airport security, consumer debt, the oil and gas industry, pandemic, and tort reform. </p>
<p>The next month will begin with a visit from the <a href="https://archinect.com/Weitzman" target="_blank">Weitzman School</a>’s Paul Farber on <a href="https://arch.usc.edu/events/paul-farber" target="_blank">February 6</a> to discuss his curatorial work and research into <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/681239/public-monuments" target="_blank">public monuments</a> and civic memory. <a href="https://arch.usc.edu/events/usc-architecture-generation-next" target="_blank">Generation NEXT</a>’s Pecha Kucha will continue activities on February 13 with a look at the work of recent USC graduates in typically casual and fast-paced formatting.
