<p>The reader poll to select the most popular design of the <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/2305421/fall-2023-lectures" target="_blank">32 posters</a> we presented for that academic term in our ongoing <em><a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/336082/get-lectured" target="_blank">Get Lectured</a></em> series opened earlier this month and still runs until Tuesday, February 20, 5:30 p.m. Pacific Time.<br></p>
<p>Currently, the school whose lecture poster received the most votes is <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150377675/get-lectured-unc-charlotte-fall-23-spring-24" target="_blank">The David R. Ravin School of Architecture at UNC Charlotte</a> with 19.8%, ahead of the <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150363100/get-lectured-pratt-institute-fall-23" target="_blank">Pratt Institute School of Architecture</a> and <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150384023/get-lectured-ucla-fall-23" target="_blank">UCLA's School of Architecture and Urban Design</a>, which are both tied in second place with 12.4% of votes each. In third place at the moment is <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150375100/get-lectured-florida-atlantic-university-fall-23-spring-24" target="_blank">Florida Atlantic University School of Architecture</a> at 7.7% of votes with a (literal) stand-out poster design of three-dimensional folded paper. <br></p>

<p>In our <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150363120/the-most-popular-22-23-architecture-lecture-poster-vote-goes-to" target="_blank">most recent poll</a> last September, the <a href="https://archinect.com/utsoa" target="_blank">University of Texas at Austin</a> School of Architecture took the top prizes for their <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150322723/get-lectured-the-university-of-texas-at-austin-fall-22" target="_blank">Fall '22 </a>and <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150335540/get-lectured-university-of-texas-at-austin-spring-23" target="_blank">Spring '23 lecture poster</a> designs, while the third place went to the <a href="https://archinect.com/UICSoA" target="_blank">University of Illinois Chicago</a> School of Architecture's <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150339150/get-lectured-university-of-illinois-chicago-spring-23" target="_blank">Spring '23 poster</a>, followed by a fourth-place tie from the <a href="https://archinect.com/SARUP" target="_blank">University of Milwaukee</a> School of Architecture & Urban Planning and their <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150327847/get-lectured-university-of-wisconsin-milwaukee-fall-22" target="_blank">Fall '22</a> and <a href="https://archinect.com/news/article/150339397/get-lectured-university-of-wisconsin-milwaukee-spring-23" target="_blank">Spring '23</a> lecture posters. <br></p>

<p>The semester continues this month with a visiting lecture from <a href="https://archinect.com/RADAR" target="_blank">RADAR</a> Founder and Principal Rachel Allen at 12PM on Tuesday, November 21. She is followed <a href="https://mvtaller.mx/" target="_blank">MV Taller</a>’s Founder Arturo Miranda, who will speak at noon on November 28. Finally, the semester ends with a lecture from Jennifer Siegal, the founder of the Venice and Ojai-based <a href="https://archinect.com/firms/cover/150122073/office-of-mobile-design-with-jennifer-siegal" target="_blank">Office of Mobile Design</a>, on December 5. </p>

<p>This year marks the 50th anniversary of the architect program at NJIT and the 15th anniversary of HCAD. The College will be hosting a Gala reception on October 26 that includes a silent auction of different faculty members’ artwork. Today, our ongoing series continues with a look at what’s in store at the <a href="https://archinect.com/schools/cover/7435067/florida-atlantic-university" target="_blank">Florida Atlantic University School of Architecture</a> in 2023–24.</p>
<p>The poster, designed by the school's Director, <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/86774/joseph-choma" target="_blank">Joseph Choma</a>, <em>literally</em> stands out with its unique folded creases, which turn an otherwise flat medium into a three-dimensional sculptural object. "Unlike typical two-dimensional posters, each poster is folded along curved creases to produce shadows based on the specific lighting condition," Choma told Archinect. </p>
