And the current frontrunners for our Fall '23 architecture school lecture poster vote are...

It's not too late yet to cast a vote for your favorite Fall '23 architecture school lecture poster!

The reader poll to select the most popular design of the 32 posters we presented for that academic term in our ongoing Get Lectured series opened earlier this month and still runs until Tuesday, February 20, 5:30 p.m. Pacific Time.

Currently, the school whose lecture poster received the most votes is The David R. Ravin School of Architecture at UNC Charlotte with 19.8%, ahead of the Pratt Institute School of Architecture and UCLA's School of Architecture and Urban Design, which are both tied in second place with 12.4% of votes each. In third place at the moment is Florida Atlantic University School of Architecture at 7.7% of votes with a (literal) stand-out poster design of three-dimensional folded paper.

With our Get Lectured series, showcasing upcoming public lectures at architecture schools, well into the current Spring academic term, it's a great opportunity to take a look back and let the Archinect audience be the judge of the graphic prowess the 32 poster designs we presented during the Fall 2023 term had to offer.

In our most recent poll last September, the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture took the top prizes for their Fall '22 and Spring '23 lecture poster designs, while the third place went to the University of Illinois Chicago School of Architecture's Spring '23 poster, followed by a fourth-place tie from the University of Milwaukee School of Architecture & Urban Planning and their Fall '22 and Spring '23 lecture posters.

Voting closes on Tuesday, February 20, at 5:30 p.m. Pacific Time. The lecture posters with the most votes will be announced on Friday, February 23. Have fun!

Get Lectured: East Los Angeles College, Fall '23

Archinect’s Get Lectured series is a means of surveying the landscape of public programming at architecture schools across the country. Today, we continue with a look at the late semester goings-on happening at East Los Angeles College's (ELAC) Department of Architecture.

The semester continues this month with a visiting lecture from RADAR Founder and Principal Rachel Allen at 12PM on Tuesday, November 21. She is followed MV Taller’s Founder Arturo Miranda, who will speak at noon on November 28. Finally, the semester ends with a lecture from Jennifer Siegal, the founder of the Venice and Ojai-based Office of Mobile Design, on December 5.

The School of Architecture & Urban Planning at UW-Milwaukee (SARUP) has shared its slate of Fall semester public programming as part of our Get Lectured series.

Events began on October 10 with author Building Power: Architecture and Surveillance in Victorian America author Anna Andrzejewski and continued with an appearance last week from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) preservation expert Michelangelo Sabatino.

The lectures continue on November 2 with Future Firm founder Anna Lui’s presentation ‘Future / Practice: Coauthoring the Equitable City.’ She will be followed by American Indians and the American Dream author Kasey Keeler’s book talk and discussion on December 1. National Center for Sustainable Transportation Director Susan Handy follows Keeler on December 6, and the semester concludes with University of Technology Sydney School Architecture Head Daniel A. Barber’s presentation 'When Modern was Solar' December 7.

Our Get Lectured series offers a rundown of all the events and public lectures taking place at different schools of architecture in North America. Today, our tour continues with a look at what’s in store at the UCLA School of Architecture and Urban Design for its Fall academic term.

This week began with an October 10 visit from Abalos+Sentkiewicz AS+ founders Iñaki Ábalos and Renata Sentkiewicz. They will be followed on October 18 by Portland-based designer Volkan Alkanoglu’s lecture "In Pursuit of Novel Form." Aleksandra Jaesch will follow Alkanoglu on October 25 with the lecture 'No Trespassing Beyond This Point.’

Today, Archinect is continuing our Get Lectured series with a look at the events taking place this semester at the University of New Mexico School of Architecture and Planning in Albuquerque.

This Fall’s SA+P public programming has already featured lectures from AIA Arizona President Damon Leverett and Outlaw Capital author Jennifer Tucker. The series will continue on Tuesday, October 17, with a visit from writer and architect Léopold Lambert and will be followed by Black Reconstruction Collective co-founder Felecia Davis on Monday, October 23.

The semester has already included lectures from guests John Humphries and Ilmar Hurkxkens. Archinect's Get Lectured offers a survey of the various events and public programming on tap at architecture schools each semester. Today, our series continues with a preview of what’s in store at the University of Maryland School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. this Fall.

Earlier in September, the school welcomed a lecture from Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk on September 8 and a presentation/workshop from Kabir Khondaker and Suhailey Farzana on September 29-21. Get Lectured offers a look at the various events taking place at North American architecture schools each semester. Today, our tour continues with a look at public programming at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) Hillier College of Architecture and Design (HCAD) this Fall.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the architect program at NJIT and the 15th anniversary of HCAD. The College will be hosting a Gala reception on October 26 that includes a silent auction of different faculty members’ artwork. Tickets for the event, which start at $50, can be found here.

Our Get Lectured series offers a semesterly look at the on-campus public programming offered by different schools of architecture. Today, we continue with a look at the events taking place at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP) this Fall.

This year’s theme is organized under the title ‘Affirmations.’ The school shares: “AFFIRMATIONS is an eight-month series of discussions with designers, researchers, planners, preservationists, and activists to affirm and interrogate how to think and redesign the built environment at the intersection of climate, ecological, societal, bodily, and technological crises and defiance. Get Lectured offers a rundown of different events and public programs taking place at schools of architecture each semester. Today, our ongoing series continues with a look at what’s in store at the Florida Atlantic University School of Architecture in 2023–24.

The poster, designed by the school's Director, Joseph Choma, literally stands out with its unique folded creases, which turn an otherwise flat medium into a three-dimensional sculptural object. "Unlike typical two-dimensional posters, each poster is folded along curved creases to produce shadows based on the specific lighting condition," Choma told Archinect.

The new academic year is in full swing, and that means it’s time once again for our Get Lectured series. Today, we’ll take a look at the events and lectures happening this Fall at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Architecture.

The term began with a lecture from Adjunct Associate Professor Chana Haouzi on August 30. Sol Comacho’s lecture ‘Adapting - Design in a fully built metropolis’ will be on September 20. Joseph Altshuler and Zack Morrison of Could Be Design will have a discussion on September 22, followed by Phu Hoang’s ‘Indoor Urbanism’ lecture on September 28. The lectures continue with a presentation from Sam Jacob on October 12. Classes are back in session, and that means it's time for another edition of our Get Lectured series. Today, we take a look at what’s in store at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture this Fall.

The events begin on Thursday, September 21, with Northeastern University associate professor Marie Law Adams, who will speak about public infrastructure and the work of her Boston-based practice Landing Studio. She is followed by MASS Design Group’s Senior Director of Sustainability and Regenerative Design, Kelly Alvarez Doran, on October 5. UNAM Ph.D. candidate Elena Tudela Rivadeneyra will speak on November 2 about resilient design, and the semester concludes on November 16 with the school’s new Emerging Practitioner Fellow, Quan Thai.

Our Get Lectured series provides a useful look at different events and lectures taking place on campuses in North America. Today, we continue with a preview of what’s in store for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Architecture in the Fall and Spring semesters.

Archinect's Get Lectured offers an overview of different events and lectures taking place at architecture schools each semester. Today, our series continues with a look at what’s happening this Fall at Carnegie Mellon University School of Architecture in Pittsburgh.

Get Lectured is our semesterly look at the different events and lectures happening at architecture schools across the country. Today, our tour takes us to the Elm City for a look at what’s happening at the Yale School of Architecture this fall.

School is back in session, and that means it's time for another installment of our Get Lectured series. Today, we’ll have a look at what’s in store for the Fall semester at The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture in the first year of Dean Heather Woofter’s tenure.

The series begins on Monday, September 11, with a lecture from SoA alumni and Snøhetta founders Craig Dykers and Elaine Molinar. Their lecture on ecology and site considerations follows the debut of the firm’s New Grounds design for the Blanton Museum of Art this spring and precedes an appearance from Barkow Leibinger founder Frank Barkow on September 18.
