Wilson</a> has been named as the 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient by the University of Virginia (<a href="https://archinect.com/uva_sarc" target="_blank">UVA</a>) School of Architecture. </p>
<p>Wilson graduated from UVA with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 1985, and has been selected to receive the prestigious award among other "exceptional graduates from the School of Architecture who have demonstrated creativity, innovation, leadership, and vision through their distinguished body of work, within the professional, academic, civic, or artistic realms, as well as their service to the University of Virginia," according to the school's <a href="https://www.arch.virginia.edu/news/mabel-o-wilson-2020-distinguished-alumni-award-recipient" target="_blank">website</a>. </p>

The Richard Meier Chair of the Department of Architecture was announced by the college and by Richard Meier & Partners Architects, Meier's New York City– and Los Angeles–based practice for 55 years.</p></em><br /><br /><p>The first person to hold the new title of Richard Meier Chair of the Department of Architecture will be <a href="https://archinect.com/schools/cover/1544387/cornell-university" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">AAP</a> associate professor Andrea Simitch (B.Arch. '79).</p>
<p>The 83-year-old <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/86628/richard-meier" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Meier</a> is the only Cornell alumnus to have received the Pritzker Architecture Prize (1984).</p>

The Summer Show is the culmination of a year’s design work in the studios and is entirely student curated, designed and run. From the initial explorations of first years to the final schemes of their graduates, the ethos of their work is grounded in context and collaboration across the school.</em></strong></p><p>The exhibition will run until the 17th July, including lectures from alumni and on the 16th July, prospective students will be invited to attend talks by current students and studio tutors. PLANT partners Lisa Rapoport, Chris Pommer, and Mary Tremain have been awarded the 2012 Faculty of Engineering Team Alumni Achievement Medal from the University of Waterloo. The awards ceremony took place on Thursday 22 November 2012 at the annual Dean of Engineering Dinner in Waterloo, Ontario, where Dean Pearl Sullivan presented the medal to the team. Since 2005, this prestigious award has established a tangible recognition of the professional achievements, volunteer leadership, and research excellence of Waterloo Engineering alumni.</p>

Rapoport, Pommer, and Tremain founded PLANT Architect Inc. in 1997, using their academic experience as a launching pad for their collaborative practice.
