It yields a 25,000-seat stadium (also MLS’s first all-electric design) with a 35,000-square-foot public space that can be operated on non-match days. The plan also includes a 2,500-unit affordable housing component, a 250-room hotel, and 650-seat public school. HOK has said previously they expect the stadium's construction to be completed in time for the 2027 season.

The old airport was notorious for its poor condition; former Gov. Andrew Cuomo called it "outdated, overcrowded and unworthy of the Empire State."

With construction costs, the HOK and WSP-designed Terminal B renovation is valued at $8 billion.
On Monday we'll be (virtually) hosting an important discussion with a group of panelists that have a lot of valuable insight for architects and firm owners about how to best get through a recession. The panel, Lessons on Surviving, and Even Thriving Through a Recession, will take place on Monday, October 12th, from 1-2pm EST (10-11am PST).

How does the current recession compare to previous recessions? Why is architecture so vulnerable to changes in the economy? Should firms scale back or push forward and spend during a recession? How can a firm take advantage of opportunities a recession brings? What's the best approach to leading a team through a challenging time? These are just a few of the questions we plan to address during the panel.

According to the report, "'Neurodiversity' refers to the natural range of variation in human neurocognition. It’s an umbrella term for people who aren’t neurotypical, and includes such conditions as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, dyspraxia (a neurologically based physical disorder) and Tourette syndrome, among others. Approximately 15-20 percent of people are 'neurodivergent.'"

The firm's report argues that adapting workplaces to the the needs of neurodiverse communities not only helps individuals thrive in the workplace, but that "accommodating the different wiring of neurodiverse people can provide a huge competitive advantage" for businesses due to the fact that, according ...
