Get Lectured: East Los Angeles College, Spring '22

Spring is here, and with that come exciting lectures and events brought to you by architecture schools. Continuing with Archinect's Get Lectured series highlighting Spring 2022 public programming, East Los Angeles College's (ELAC) Department of Architecture announces its virtual lecture series.

On April 22, the school welcomes a lecture from architectural historian, critic, activist, and educator Patricia Morton. In May, designer, writer, and educator David Turnbull will present on May 6. Concluding ELAC's Spring lecture series is a lecture from architect and educator Michael Rotondi of RoTo Architects on May 20.

Get Lectured: Boston Architectural College, Spring '22

As the final weeks of March approach, architecture schools continue with their Spring 2022 lecture event programming. Boston Architectural College, a winner by popular vote of Archinect's 2021 Get Lectured Poster competition, provides another series of lecture events to watch.

The School's Just Design Spring 2022 lecture series welcomed presentations from David Rifkind and Dawit Benti in January, who discussed contemporary Ethiopian architecture, followed by Khushnu Panthaki Hoof (Studio Sangath), who spoke on perceptions of lightness in February. For March, Chuan Hao (Alex) Chen discussed Race, Nation, and Biocontainment Architecture, and Sierra Bainbridge spoke on her work with MASS Design Group in Rwanda.

Get Lectured: University of Texas at Austin, Spring '22

With the Spring lecture series well underway, architecture schools proceed with an exciting lineup of presentations and public events for the season. The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) has reached the halfway mark for its Spring lecture series.

Starting in January the school welcomed visits from Jing Liu of SO-IL and Miroslava Brooks of FORMA. For February strong lineup lectures were delivered from Maxi Spina and Jia Yi Gu of Spinagu, Susan Jones of atelierjones, Anne Holtrop of Studio Anne Holtrop, Võ Trọng Nghĩa of Võ Trọng Nghĩa Architects, and Kutan Ayata and Michael Young of Young & Ayata. The school also welcomed Rice University's School of Architecture Dean, Igor Marjanović.

Syracuse University School of Architecture (SoA) shares its Spring 2022 lecture series and event programming. Continuing with Archinect's Get Lectured Series, our aim is to highlight upcoming lectures from architecture schools as well as their graphic design themes for the Spring.

Starting in January the school announced their mini-lecture series, Design and the Biodiverse. "Organized by Associate Dean Julia Czerniak, focusing on the intersection of design with issues of biodiversity, will take place throughout the spring." Continuing with Archinect's Spring 2022 Get Lectured series, the University of Southern California (USC) Architecture shares its lineup of lectures and events in March and April.

The school's "ARCHITECTURE ENGAGED" series features a collection of symposiums, talks, exhibitions, and events for the Spring season. The school shares that this Spring's lecture programming "engages the Los Angeles community and the global public in innovative thought, practice, and social impact - by connecting architecture thinking to systemic challenges for individuals, cities, and regions."

For this iteration of Archinect's Get Lectured Spring 2022 focus, Woodbury University School of Architecture has an exciting line-up of guest lecturers.
