The data center will be powered by 100% renewable energy and will use 80% less water than the average data center, the company writes in <a href="https://www.facebook.com/notes/dekalb-data-center/hello-dekalb-home-to-facebooks-next-data-center/111881063914953/" target="_blank">a statement</a>. Upon completion, the project will obtain LEED Gold certification. </p>
<p>Moreover, the new facility will provide an estimated 100 operational jobs and employ an estimated 1,200 construction workers who will be working onsite for "several years," according to the company. Mortenson Construction was selected as the general contractor for the job. An architect for the project has not been listed.</p>
