C. F. Møller closes London office after 18 years

One of Europe’s largest and most successful firms is downsizing after C. F. Møller announced the closure of its London operations last week.

According to a report in AJ, the office had reported losses totaling £211,000 ($260,421) between 2019 and 2021. The firm’s sole UK outpost was opened in 2004 and entered into the liquidation process in late December after its two top directors resigned earlier in the month.

Among the projects completed during its two decade timespan includes the housing segment of the 2012 Olympics Athletes’ Village, multiple museum commissions, and several housing schemes mostly geared toward sustainability benchmarks and and their dual focus on green infrastructure.

LEGO Group's new campus officially opens at headquarters in Billund, Denmark

Following five years of construction and planning, the LEGO Group is celebrating the official opening of the new corporate campus at its headquarters in Billund, Denmark. Designed by C.F. Møller Architects, LEGO Campus spans 54,000 square meters (581,000 square feet) and accommodates approximately 2,000 employees.

Offering a playful, inclusive, and collaborative environment, the campus was designed to reflect the company's values of “Imagination, Fun, Creativity, Caring, Learning, and Quality”. A core element of the campus concept is flexibility, which is embodied through “People House,” a concept developed in close collaboration with employees that calls for spaces that allow all employees to network and play during and after working hours.

AJ, C.F. Møller may be getting new London headquarters after Piercy&Company proposes Telephone House demolition

The proposals are for the redevelopment of the site to replace the poor quality, office use building that is set-back from the street behind a perimeter fence, with a high-quality building that will activate all three street frontages and provide multiple functions, including co-working, retail, roof terraces and central gallery atrium.

According to the Architects' Journal whose offices would be affected by the planned demolition along with the London studio of C.F. Møller Architects, the new Piercy&Co-designed building aims to address "the challenges of climate change by creating an ultra-low carbon building and placing sustainability at the heart of the project." The developer promised a 50% reduction in operational carbon emissions when compared to others currently under construction and said an adaptation scheme was explored for a year before being replaced by the plan for new construction.

HENN and C.F. Møller Architects to design new geometric hospital in Munich

HENN and C.F. Møller Architects win first prize for the new Grosshadern Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Clinic Campus, triumphing over 17 other planning teams who competed for the commission. The architects plan to transform the existing structures to create a green, connected, and friendly environment for medical care, research, and education.

Nearly two years after opening its Bjarke Ingels-designed LEGO House to much media fanfare, the LEGO Group now inaugurated the first phase of a new corporate campus at its headquarters in Billund, Denmark.

While the buildings and the campus concept, planned by Danish firm C.F. Møller Architects, have also been inspired by the basic brick nature of the toy giant's core product, the references here are far more subtle compared to the public-oriented, bricks-in-your-face LEGO House. Think fun serious workplace.
