Called Paramount, the residential building will be 750 feet tall upon completion, surpassing the city’s current tallest building, the 617-foot-tall AT&T Building.</p>

Called 320 South Canal, the 51-story structure is the latest in a series by the same team that focuses on tenant health and <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/56089/wellness" target="_blank">wellness</a>. </p>

The development team of Riverside Investment & Development, Convexity Properties, and Clark Construction also delivered Chicago’s Bank of America Tower in 2020 and the 150 North Riverside office building in 2017. <p>The new Guangxi China Resources Tower is a mixed-use design that incorporates a 336-room hotel, office spaces, and retail into its over 2.93-million-square-foot <a href="https://archinect.com/news/tag/14612/supertall" target="_blank">supertall</a> structure, which now stands as the 18th tallest building in China and the 37th tallest in the world. </p>

Developed by Giarratana LLC, the project rises 34-stories and includes 356 residential units with a total of 375,800 square feet. The building features a rooftop game room, to pools, and several communal "alcoves."</p>

Amtrak just announced a shortlist of four contenders for the gig, as reported by <a href="http://www.chicagobusiness.com/realestate/20160912/CRED03/160909825" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Chicago Real Estate Daily</a>.</p>
<p>The shortlist comprises the development firms John Buck, Riverside Investment & Development, Golub and Sterling Bay. Each of the developers has a noted architectural practice on board; respectively, Jeanne Gang and Cesar Pelli, Goettsch Partners, Gensler, and Skidmore Owings & Merrill. </p>
<p>The teams were selected from an RFQ and will now move on to the proposal stage, with plans due by the beginning of 2017. According to Amtrak, the winning proposal will be selected by the end of the first quarter.</p>
<p>The winning firm could build on top of existing buildings, on land owned by Amtrak, or over the train tracks. Amtrak owns 14 acres of land and up to 3 million square feet in air rights.</p>
