Fitting for a place that cherishes A-listers, virtually every celebrity architect in the world, and many rising stars, have built there in the last decade. The big names include Frank Gehry, Rem Koolhaas, Zaha Hadid, Herzog &amp; De Meuron, Grimshaw, C&eacute;sar Pelli, Richard Meier, Arquitectonica, Rafael Moneo, Jean Nouvel and Bjarke Ingels. The privately-funded institution began operating in temporary quarters nearby in December 2014, shortly after it was founded by the former board of the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MoCA NoMi) following a legal battle with the city.</p></em><br /><br /><p>The new building in Miami's Design District was designed by&nbsp;<a href="https://archinect.com/firms/cover/150040591/aranguren-gallegos-arquitectos" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Aranguren + Gallegos Arquitectos</a> from Madrid and includes 20,500 sq. ft&nbsp;of exhibition space.</p>
