GOLD COAST BATHROOM TRANSFORMATION

The owners of this Lake Shore Drive condominium wanted to transform their outdated bathrooms into spa-like retreats. The concept was to create a soothing and timeless design while maintaining the existing footprint of the current bathrooms. Existing structural columns and existing plumbing stack locations were integrated into the final design.

Design continuity among the bathrooms was important and was created by using similar materials in each bathroom - Spanish marble on the floors and walls, and quarter sawn walnut for the custom floating vanities. Design interest was added by using glass tiles in each bathroom - 1x8 glass mosaic tiles in the master bath and 4x12 glass tiles in the guest bath. Minimalist, square trimless down lighting was used throughout. Contemporary and energy efficient perimeter cove lighting creates a floating ceiling plane while highlighting the glass tile walls in soft light.

In the master bath custom designed millwork provides floor-to-ceiling cabinetry for ample storage with an open display niche. The details in the design of the bathrooms achieve the look and feel of a fine luxury hotel with the functionality and comfort level for every day enjoyment
