I am a recent graduate of the University of Oregon’s Master of Architecture program and am interested in a position that will allow me to combine my passion for urban revitalization and sustainable design. I believe that my experience as a student and professional has given me the tools and ability to be a strong addition to a collaborative design effort.

At the University of Oregon I worked towards the development of a community design concentration within the school of architecture. Many of my graduate design projects focused on place making through comprehensive design. An example would be my terminal studio project, which focused on the programming and design of a contemporary production facility in Uptown, Portland. Inspired by the reality that “e-waste” is one of America’s fastest growing waste streams, the project combined educational programs with a facility to recycle and re-engineer e-waste. The concept was to distribute the program along both side of the intersecting street and use the hearth of the building, it’s library, to connect the two facilities. The project demonstrates architecture’s ability to organize and repair an urban fabric by introducing building mass and street walls to create a pedestrian oriented right of way.

Prior to my gradate education, I spent three years as an assistant project manager in USFʼs Office of Project Management. Working in project management exposed me to a different side of architecture by allowing me to experience the development of projects from concept to completion from an owner/client perspective. As a project manager, I represented the University when working with contractors, architects and vendors on campus projects. My responsibilities included conducting feasibility studies, coordinating design development and managing the project throughout construction. Immediately after receiving my graduate degree, I began working in the City of Eugene’s Department of Development as an urban designer. I am currently developing streetscape standards for Eugene’s downtown core as member of the Downtown Place-Making team.

I have spent the last three years developing my representation skills and am capable of using a variety of medias to produce renderings, sketches and diagrams that represent a projects intended atmosphere and overarching theme. I possess of a full range of graphic abilities and am competent in Sketch-Up and proficient in Creative Suite, Revit, AutoCAD and Vectorworks.
